Check out perez hilton and see how he sources his pics. The US Copyright law has certain exceptions re copyright protection--commentary/news is one of the exceptions.

Not sure about being a feed subscriber, but I would check it once every few days to check it out... and really, it's not much work, just setup the blog, get some free template, put some ads on the site, and make a few bucks for pretty much the same amount of work you already do by posting stuff on gfy... you could probably have the thing running in less than an hour, total cost $10 for the domain name...
