Many Asians have quiate admirable cultures. Look at the Japanese and Chinese for instance. They value education, hard work, family relationships and basically success. you need to read a book called "guns, germs and steel." it basically describes how europe became so much more advanced than the rest of the world because of it's geography, allowing the flow of agriculture and ideas.

Perhaps arguable the Malinese Empire, however that's more like an example of good organization given they didn't leave anything notable behind. I think that the success of the Malinese Empire can be more attributed to Islam, however.

read that book... it demonstrates that the reason for western civilization being more advanced is the temperate climate and a geography which encourages east-west flow. africa is conversely an extremely harsh environment where much more of humanity's time is spent procuring basic resources, and thus time on a societal level couldn't be spent on developing said society beyond much more than the tribal or nomadic level. those people were just unlucky enough to be born there in africa rather than in resource-rich europe... western civilization is a product of environment rather than any inherent superiority in people with less melanin in their skin... despite what the racists would like to believe.

I am certainly of the same belief as war child, it has everything to do with the culture, but resource rich Europe? Common now, in comparison to Africa Europe is hardly resource rich. And plus, if you want to talk about harsh climates, maybe you might want to head to the beautifully successful nations of Norway, Finland, or even the relatively and increasingly successful Russia.

Certainly the flow of information is what helped European nations rise up, after all compare the Germanic tribes to Rome in its day, were the Germans isolated they might very well of remained that way. But the fact is their culture evolved, their society evolved and over time they became a success in their own right - and obviously still are today. The fact is African culture, tradition, tribalism has yet to really undertake such a significant evolution, and that's why they are still stuck in the mess they are today - not because of Western intervention as you originally claimed.

Well yes Egypt is kind of a special case. Arguably though it's not really representitive of Africa as a whole. Most of the Egyptian guys I know would say they are not African.

The culture in Egypt is Islamic not tribal, and that explains a lot right there.
