How would you spend $1000 to promote a solo girl site? (PIC)

Buy traffic? Where? From who?

Ashley Steel just launched SendAshleyToCollege.com asked me that question and I didn't know how to respond. Where should a new solo site spend their time and money? Any help?

Spend the 1000 on gallery spots at a high teen traffic site. Webmasters surf and will see what that site is pushing and signup.

Difficult question.

The truth is if the site hasn't taken off like wow already (webmasters continuing to push the site), the site will be dead in the water in 9-12 months. No money to keep her focused and active in the site.

She should be using that college time to learn how to submit her own stuff, since no one will care about the site more than her (if she's really involved). Bank the cam money and try keeping those members around.

I spend a lot of time working on all this... and my program too. Learning the traffic game isn't easy. The sites only a couple months old (and my program even less than that...) and its growing, but not as fast as I had hoped... any advice you guys have would be awesome!!!! I've put everything into the site I have, and it will definitely keep my focus. The idea is to start a full program, not just one site... I know it takes time and attention and lots of money, so I'm getting there.

i'd be disappointed if I had that site and it wasn't doing well - she's very cute and the site is nice. truth is the niche she's in has seen better days - it's a cow pasture that's been trampled on.

i'd suggest if she's having a hard time marketing it join up with an established program but that should have been done from the start if it was going to be done. pretty hard for a girl pretty much on her own to crack the market.
Raven has Tom3X, Melissa has Biggy, Kate has Spunky - notice the trend -
maybe there's a webmaster out there who would do the same for her but it definitely would have been better to start out that way.

with $1000 - since she owns her own site she could buy some gallery spots on good teen TGP's and turn a profit since she keeps all the money and should be clearing 40-50 dollars per signup.

Can you offer a ccbill affiliate only option? I'm very skeptical of joining new programs with just 1 sologirl site when sologirl's tend to stop updating fast..

I would love to try to send some sales to her.. but I'm not going to sign up to another nats program for the chance

PPC / Adwords is a bad idea. She would probably spend $1000 before figuring out how to make a decent ROI. Gallery spots must be chosen very carefully too. Most site's spots are not worth it. I would ask some of the great tgp sites like T'sBs if they want to partner up with her maybe for an exclusive right to promote her and 60% revshare...

She is a little bit too old for the teen niche though. Unless she is 18 and looks way younger, she should maybe try a different niche (something extreme sells better)

teens/coeds - same niche - same people who push pedo bait sites like LittleLupe also promote MelissaMidwest type girls - coed types.

about NATS vs CCBILL - Ashley really would have been better off with using CCBILL's revshare system, it would have been simpler, cheaper and affiliates in her niche really are more comfortable with CCBILL, especially if it's a model doing her own site. CCBILL has 10 years of trust and goodwill built up.

i really like her - i do remember when she first launched that an affiliate told me he was having trouble communicating with her or whoever was helping her out and he said 'i don't have time for this, plenty of others to promote'

if you are dependent on affiliate traffic, they are always right, to a point of course.

I think you should move to CCBill. Sure NATS works well for large programs with 30 sites, but for a single site, it's just not worth signing up for another program. Most webmasters who promote solo girls promote a lot of them and rotate them. They aren't pushing all their traffic to one or two. So sales get spread apart a lot. It's easier to manage all the solo girl programs via one CCBill account than a bunch of NATS accounts. I promote solo girls and I wouldn't sign up to your program for that exact reason.

exactly my thoughts when pushing a new sologirl site. if you're running solo with your own site, nats is not the choice i'd make. there's alot of webmasters around who can send a sign up or two a month, but when you can't get a regular check out of the program you lose your steam in sending traffic to the program and tend to forget about promoting it at all after a while. when i see a new sologirl with a ccbill option, whats the harm in giving her a go. i'm alreayd getting my ccbill checks right on time every couple weeks, i get paid regularly for the one or two sales, and i'm happy to keep promoting. nats is a royal pain in the ass for this sort of thing, unless you intend only on having a handful of big dogs working to push the site. by casting away the interest of what is probably in the hundreds of smaller webmasters, who could potentially send a sale or two a month your way, you are cutting the number of potential sales down at the same time.

i'd put the money towards something that would catch the eye of some new webmasters. then again you can do things that cost very little to gain the attention of webmasters too. do a fansign thread, we all know how webmasters like to hop on new girls for fansigns...

Get back to ccbill, get in on their beta or standard now cascade program which should free up a bit more money per month which by my guess would be a third of your promo budget giving you roughly 1300-1400 to work with.

You own your program and your site. That also means you could take the time to make unique content for your webmasters. This does not mean make a gfy thread doing fan videos or fan signs either as most requests will just be of a personal nature or come from non webmasters. So screen them first and then offer up to do some unique promo content for them.

Consider some cross promotion via content. Hell even I am always trying to do that with solo girls however most do not seem to see the value in it. Pretty simple though, shoot a video or two. We both get to use it. I add you to my site and plug you in my members area which typically converts at less than 1:10 with all clicks. If you promote me is purely up to you, however I get turned down often and I am not even a hardcore site. Other sites will offer the same sort of deal.

So far everything above would actually cost you nothing but time and actually increase your budget. Not to mention webmasters like ccbill better as mentioned since they not only can trust CCbill more they use merged accounts which let them get paid even if they only get one sale from you.

As for your budget now yes you could go out and try to buy some spots but that is hit and miss. Then again you could run a feasible contest across the assorted boards. Something along the lines of maybe a two to four week promo where you give the webmasters 100% of the signup and 50% of the revshare or you could give them 100% of the revshare as well as that is up to you. Then also offer some cash prizes to the top three promoters. Hell even something as small as 500.00 for first, 250.00 for second, and 125.00 for third would still not use up your entire budget yet would get you noticed. Specially if they needed to send say at least five or ten signups during the promo period to qualify for the contest (useless if its a top promoter contest though typically).

Of course you would want to also utilize every single PR ability as possible. Send out press releases to every adult industry mag and such whenever possible.

Then naturally make sure you are listed with and stay on top of every review site out there. They all make great affiliates and many webmasters actually look for new sites by checking review sites.

Lastly make yourself available. Answer any and every affiliate and possible affiliate message and email you get as promptly as possible. If you are not sure about something do not fib or lead them on and just tell the truth and say you do not know.

With Hal backing you, and what apparently comes across as some heavy bro-backing already too, I'm sure you'll do well Ashley, give it a little time. Figure a way to get more webmasters interested in the promoting of the site. Maybe put the money towards hooking up with some other established sologirls to get your name out there to your target audience...

I've been through dozens and dozens of sologirl members areas now, and the thing that worries me the most about them is that I see alot of DEAD members areas, no model interaction, and so forth. As an affiliate this shows on my rebills. You seem to be set on making your site work, and being interactive will give you a huge leap over a lot of the competition. Get on that cam every chance you can, write in your blog, take a minute or two to reply to comments left by adoring fans. You will retain more members, and your affiliates will love the rebills...

I have hopes that I'm not wrong here (and hopes for a ccbill option ) So I ran off and bought ashleysteelblog.com just to be safe, so i'll get around to pushing your stuff one way or another here one of these days.

Oh ya, CCBILL CCBILL CCBILL CCBILL CCBILL CCBILL CCBILL CCBILL !!!!!!!!!!

Probably because a guy is running it and the model is not involved in the site. So many cookie cutter sites out there with girl after girl after girl...they all look the same to me.

The most model interactive sites are where the girl herself is the main boss or she is getting paid handsomely to be part of the site that is based around her.

I know of many solo girls who run their own stuff , update weekly, and have a great customer fan base that they interact with several times a week.

A nice thing to think about adding to your site is a voyuer cam in your house (if you are comfortable with that)..it retains members when they can pop on anytime and see what you may be doing around your house.

Good luck and I hope you dont go the route of jumping on the bandwagon of being on a program with someone else making the money off of you.

I would say that for $1000 you can advertise on a couple of webmaster boards for a month (not this one).

More often than not it's a program salvaging what they have left for content from a girl after she bails on them. They get a model and take a fuckload of pics, then she just up and takes off leaving the program owners trying to regain their investment with the 60 photosets and a handful of halfcrap video that they got before she flaked. Then the site is left hovering in limbo for who nows how long, saturating a niche with more sites that just don't deliver. It's not really a big deal if it's secretly a dude writing those blog entries just so long as there is fresh content in the mix regularly, sooooo many are stale recycled crap it's not funny. This niche is so full cookie cutter crap it hurts, and they do not retain for shit. That's why I love the sound of a girl taking some part in her own site when I get to promoting solo girl stuff.

If you're going to launch a sologirl site and expect it to do well anymore it had better be damn interactive. There'd better be regular camshows, frequent picture and video updates, a regularly updated blog (even if its just boring day to day rambling) and maybe even a forum for further interaction with the subscribers. .

I agree. I Think a little of the reason these girls dont stick around is because they dont have any control and dont have much invested..they grow bored of it , not knowing the amount of time and money the webmaster invested in it so its not much of a concern when they up and disappear.

Use the $1000 to build some promo tools like Movie/Picture FHGs, RSS Feeds etc.

I remember this incident and Ill assure you... that potential affiliate was arrogant as fuck and acted like Ashley should bow to HIM being an all supreme affiliate...

when in fact i researched this persons nick and came up with nothing but bullshit...

I believe this is the same person that you speak of... if not, my mistake for mixing the two...

Even after i told this guy i was not the person to be talking to he started getting rude and telling me how its my loss and no one should give her the time of day...

he started off the conversation with something like ...

"who is backing her affiliate checks, Im not signing up if you cant guarantee my check payment"

I shit you not... is that really how to start a good affiliate relationship...

again... Mutt if its not the same person, my apologies, but it certainly rings a bell on the incident...

i forget the name, but i remember the pic of the person after doing some research on them...

i'm not sure who it was, could be one of a few guys - i just remember the gist of the situation.

she should return to this thread - she should hit up Cybermike and see if she can do something to earn his traffic/effort promoting her.

the Cybermikes are who make solo girl sites successful. have 20 Cybermike's and you are making some good money.

there are also surfer forums where models interact and flirt with fans of solo girl sites and post new photos - some are NN some are Nude - she shouldn't be above that kind of marketing, Kate does it, Melissa does it, Diddy does it ......

has she done a FreeOnes gear shoot yet? FreeOnes is amazing for solo girl sites - do anything they ask.

has she done a fan sign for AmateurIndex? has she contacted Ryan from AI about being a 'feature girl'? there is no better traffic for solo girls than Amateur Index.

Yes, we all know you're the granddaddy of solo success and that you wipe your ass with $100 bills. Contact them with your information, I'm 100% sure it is valuable and based on experience in the field. People are just brainstorming and throwing out some suggestions. Now go suck a cock you self-righteous arrogant fuck.

I can't post a link here, but I know of a forum that is particularly good surfer forum where a lot of this takes place. I know for a fact Diddy works it over there, and I'm pretty sure I remember Kari Sweets posting there too, as well as a few other girls. ICQ me quick if you want to do this and I'll throw you the link over. It's a pretty high traffic forum and it should get you some attention.

My comment was not directed specifically at you. Nor can I claim that every solosite I've built has been a huge success. But I CAN say that experience is the best teacher, and unless you've run your own sologirl sites, you are really just guessing as to what works and what doesn't. What works best from an affiliate perspective doesn't always lead to a profitable sologirl site.
