Glo-Bill

http://www.glo-bill.com/ has posted on their front page that they will be, "Bucking recent trends" ....

I wonder if they are more or less just taking advantage of the situation and using it as a way to target new business and then will change their policy once we have made the change over?

How can they get around what the other processors can't?

Legally, can they change their policy (no $750 sign up fee to suddendly requiring one) after I make the transition from CCBill to Glo-Bill?

Does the statement on their front page act as any kind of insurance that what they are saying today won't change tomorrow?

To those who look down their noses at us smaller sites forgive my rudimentary questions as I am one of those sites that some question weather or not I should even be here since $750 is a big chunk for me. lol Ooooh those amateurs, such peons eh? The nerve of us to impose on you!!

Hi WebGirl I really beleive in my heart Glo-bill will do as they say. I am in the same boat as you Just cause I can not afford the 750,00 doesnt mean im anymore less important then the big shots. I havse decided to switch since glo-bill was allready my backup cc company. I will still use cc-bill for everything but visa and when I no longer have a member with a re-bill I will shit on cc-bill. It is a shame to see people I thought were decent webmasters shouting and putting down us little webmasters. FUCK I know some of the webmasters that started after I have and they are now in the CLICK on putting others down.... I kinda of glad this is happing I keep looking and reading biting my tounge just watching the people I thought were kool, friends, etc.... just sink Shrugs its all good Ill lose a little money at first but I got faith my site is now strong enough to handle it.

If you ever I MEAN ever need help web-girl please let me know and I will do anything in my power to help out someone that is NEW to OUR business.

TOM

Are you talking about my post or Muffy?

If you are talking to me no I have not posted before. I have seen some very good questions about Glo-Bill on other boards but not many of them are getting responses. CCbill has addressed it in some places but for the most part no one seems to have any opinions or answers. I would like to hear from ore than just CCBill.

Yes, its me. I usually stay away from the boards after past experiences lol. I am coming out of hiding today because this is such a big topic and I have considered becoming an AVS site but am reluctant to make any changes. Although my site is not huge, it is somewhat successful and I hesitate to make any changes. If Glo-Bill can honor their statement I think it is a good option... but I am afraid of change.

I have seen your site, its very nice!

However, not paying the Visa fee will loose you your rebills. Even if you jump to Visa Euro. We have a Visa International account and I talked to them this morning. I am German and have a German Company also and my rep in Europe told me they are considering only dealing with european companies!

I don't know where Glo-Bill falls into that, I have added them as a backup.

We have a retail merchant account and also had to pay the fees when we set up our terminal.

You need to figure it out yourself. Go to your ccbill admin, pull up your rebills with visa over the next few month. If its less than 750 you might want to consider not paying it, if its more, pay!

Visa is still the strongest biller on the net. Most of our members pay with visa.

Bad experience on this board? NAAA, how could you? We are all sweeties over here.

Very good suggestion. I never thought of that. I'm so afraid that if I change processors I will lose some of my old timers.. but at the same time I don't think it would be too much of a problem because they are the majority of my membership data base. Part of the magic of being an amateur is that most members will follow us anywhere. The other issues are how many of them have Master Card, and will Master Card be following the trend that Visa is starting? Only time will tell but I came here because I am sure there are people out there who have alot of information and insight to share.

Mastercard will follow suit, I bet on that!

Have you thought about emailing all your members and telling them what is going to happen?

If you are well liked by your members do like this

Dear Member!

Visa has added a huge fee to our small account in order to keep processing! $ 750.00.
We have to make a decision either you can help donate (paypal button inclosed) at least $ 1.00 to keep us alive with Visa, or we are forced to close the Visa account and you will loose your Membership.

If by November 15th we do not have the $ 750.00 please consider signing up with your Master Card again

Love, Webgirl

If you have a strong following and only that one site, you probably get your money from donations! Thats the good part of Amateurs.
Of course you need to write it a lot nicer, this is just an idea!
