Discuss what's fucking going on, and which programs are best and worst. One-time "program" announcements from "established" webmasters are allowed.

Perception of how good an affiliate pogram is doing based on their GFY presence?

do you tend to think programs are doing better if they are present here and popular GFY posters are working for them?

example: 2 very old school programs - Gamma Cash and MaximumCash

someone just mentioned GammaCash in some thread and then I thought to myself "hm, are they still alive?" because they dont seem to be present on GFY nowadays (and no one is talking about them either)

MaximumCash (MaxCash) on the other hand seemed 'dead' for a very long time but now after they hired Sarax and Damian from GFY, people get the impression that they're a cool program again, doing fine and getting in with the times etc

It sure helps...

And I think negative people like JimTF and guys like that can hurt a program.

Not posting doesn't mean their not watching. Gamma is doing great from what I've heard. And not reading about them on boards means:

1: nobody is having issues with them
2: there's no promos going on. Meaning they can probably do without them.
3. not much is going on/no announcements. so all is steady

Sarah even ;)

I don't think it is a matter of suddenly being cool or cool equaling a successful program. I mean, when Max Cash wasn't on the boards as much, we still had a lot of webmasters continuing to earn a lot of money with us. We may be 'old school' but with that comes a lot of experience in working with affiliates and helping them earn money with our sites.

What I do think happens from having a board presence is that people that people that perhaps haven't been around for as many years get to be as familiar with the program as those that have been with us for years. Plus, hopefully, we feel more approachable to those that want to contact us. I know that I am more likely to shoot an email or an icq message to somebody I can put a personality to rather than just a name on a contact page.

As long as the existing affiliates keep pushing the program, I don't really think it's necessary anyway.

Mailing affiliates, sending them new stuff to put up to get more of your content and ads on their sites, maybe launching new sites for the same reason, keeping in touch, that's important.

I don't run a program myself, but looking at my webmaster referrals I doubt it's that much about getting loads of affiliates, you have to get and/or keep the right people...171 referred affiliates in my CCBill admin across all programs. Guess how many actually send more than 1 sale a month ? 2, and that's probably quite good, statistically.

Plenty of people talking about the scum over at Gammae
Quote:
Gammae.com runs many programs including Famedollars, Pornication, dvdbox.com, pornaccess.com,

Vomba.com, VombaCash,

Yoursitebar, ysbweb.com(the user side of yoursitebar and Google labels it as harmful),

xxxtoolbar(Note that Google identifies xxxtoolbar as a threat. Visiting xxxtoolbar, and some other Gammae.com sites, will get you an autoinstall if you want to see first hand what they are doing with your future.(Although I would suggest doing it on a system you don't do your work on!)

slotchbar(read through all the programs listed there and you will see some interesting relationships), toolbarcash.com, and many others.

Other programs they 'use' to run are loudcash, searchbarcash, blazefind.com and probably others that they 'sold' to 180solutions. 180solutions(zango) supposedly bought out these 'rogue affiliates'. Here is an interesting write up on the loudcash.com, searchbarcash.com, and 180solutions(zango) incident.

F-secure seems to have the impression that Gammae and Zango are 1 and the same.

http://www.google.com/search?q=ysbweb

When asked what came of this potential lawsuit on another board, they vanished..
http://www.cippic.ca/en/news/documen...idavit-IST.pdf

That should be plenty of information(even though it's just tip of the iceburg), and hopefully most of you understand the ramifications of what Gammae.com is doing, and if not, might take the time to research/read some of the links posted. I spend a lot of time testing trojans, exploits, etc., and I don't think it's any coincidence that Gammae.com/ISTbar/YSBweb/slotch software is in a majority of installations, especially the driveby installs.

I would say there is little to no correlation between gfy presence and program success. In fact, I would say that the greater the presense, the more pressing the need for new streams of traffic. Programs that are rocking don't need publicity, it's just a bonus.

I think it is all about communication. Its what this whole industry depends on.

Whats the point of building new sites if many of our affiliates dont know about them?

We have a number of tools that we can use to inform them, email and notices on the affiliate member area for example but they are less than perfect.

Me and Sarah are here almost every day and can communicate those changes directly to a massive number of people at once.

Of course if we can get a few new affiliates well, thats a bonus, but its not our priority.

Also remember that we have been part of GFY for many years... I hope that I still am and not just seen as a rep that comes here for the benefit of MaxCash.

Think about McDonald's, business is 'rocking' but they continue to seek publicity on a massive scale.

Its the way you make sure you continue to 'rock'.
