depends if the server is up already or needs to be setup
moving files only, depends on the amount of data and the scripts
but it shouldn't be longer than 8hours.

Shouldn't be a problem. What CP do you have now? cPanel? DirectAdmin?
I'm assuming a nice dedicated P4 would suit you for this upgrade?

I would say... server online tonight, then migration done tomorrow during biz hours or so.
So 12 hours or so total to finish up everything.

thats not right, with 500MB of data they should've moved you in under 4h
including script resetup.

i just had someone move to me from your current host that was waiting for an upgrade that took forever too... he told me he lost a lot of members because of the time it took to do the upgrade, sad.

you want to pay them more $$$ and they treat you like they dont want it, weird.

Moving to another host should probably not take more than a few hours and an intrnal transfer should be even faster. While for many it may appear much faster I always tell clients to allow for at least 48 hours as DNS updates.
