I'm just putting this out there because now I'm upset. I'm wondering if anyone else here has been done this way or what you think of this situation.

So, I bought a video script very little over a year ago. No, not for a tube site or some shit. It was a media/video/picture script that I bought so I could run a humorous video website. It was completely mainstream and SFW. Hell, I even used YPN on it. The script looked pretty cool for what I was going for. I had a custom design built and implemented as well. In other words, I invested some cash in this script besides just purchasing the license. Unfortunately, that wasn't the only thing I purchased for the script.

The script was basically created by one guy. He also had some other guy on his staff (also a mod on the forums) who created a few mods for the script and sold them on the site. Now, here comes problem number one. His employee created a few mods that would automatically update your website for you. There were three different automatically updated categories. Videos, games and pictures. I purchased two of them. The automatic game updater and video updater. The game updater worked for a few months and then just stopped working. It would no longer pull games. A few months after that, the video updater stopped working as well. Now the guy is saying he sold the rights to his mods to someone else. Even though he told me if they ever messed up he would fix them. Now I don't know what he's going to do. I may just be shit out of luck.

Now onto my main problem. Ever since I bought the script the owner/creator of the script kept promising everyone all these updates and a new version which would "be coming soon." He would also give time frames and he never ever stuck to those by far. There hadn't been one single update since I bought the script, nor did this new version EVER get released. He never did anything, even though people would constantly ask him about the new version etc.. He was just giving them false hope to cling into.

Well, guess what. My license (for updates) expired on Feb 9th. The new version, which has very few new features and a new layout just got released today (20th). I think this asshole waited until just about everyones license expired and now he's coming back trying to bring in some new customers with a new version. Either that, or trying to get his current customers to renew their license. Why no updates at all for over a year? Like I said, there had been no updates the whole time I was a cutomer. So I know of at least a whole year (and a few days) there were no updates at all. Not to mention in every e-mail he has ever sent he constantly pimps out the renewal link.

Well, sucks for me and the other customers I guess. Has this ever happened to you? What do you think about this? Would you expect better service or am I just bitching too much?

If I were you I'd find someone else that's not selling there product on a forum. Find a good mainstream company that has credintals, I'm sure some GFY'ers could help you with that...

Add-On's were around $70?

I can't remember if I bought anything else from them.
