They are good for some SE landings or redirects, but not much else...and of course if you work out link trades and funnel in traffic, but that goes for any domain/site.

I've gotten into the habit of buying the .com and .net always . It's getting expensive! Don't really care about .info, org etc but I guess if I was launching any kind of brand that I had strong hopes for I'd go out and spend the bucks to register as many tlds as possible

If you dont get them from the start and want them back later - it's going to cost you $1500 in fees (WIPO) to start and possibly more if you hire a lawyer to file the request with ICANN.
I always tell my clients to get every possible variation on their name, including typos and mis-typed or alternative spellings as well. |
