I guess not many here care, but I still remember the Economist's title page about him being the wrong choise for Italy a few years ago.

"Conservative former prime minister Silvio Berlusconi is on track to become Italy's next leader after his center-left rival Walter Veltroni on Monday conceded general election defeat. A confirmed win for the tycoon will see him take office for the third term in 14 years. Incomplete election results show Berlusconi, 71, with a commanding lead in both houses of parliament"

Funny I was in Buenos Aires, Argentina and posters for Berlusconi were plastered all over the place. I guess the expat Italians are active in this also.
