Looks like I may have had a distant relative that was an astronomer

Here is: ic1805/Melotte Nebula

* Constellation: Cassiopeia
* Location: RA: 02h 33m 15s Dec: 61d 24m 30s Epoch 2000
* Type: Diffuse Nebula/Open Cluster
* AKA: OCL 352

I guess there are so many object is space that everyone could have one named after them. Anyone else come across their name in outer space??

When my now husband was 'courting' me he had a star named for me (well, apparently.. it was done on the internet so who the fuck knows LOL).. I thought it was a totally romantic gesture though.

And just the other day I saw a little teddybear in Toys R Us that comes with it's own 'name a star' thing attached to it too.

I think it's a really neat idea and it shows someone you're thinking outside the box when you get them one of those.
