Xbiz: The Best of "Beyond Traditional Content & Delivery"

Quote:
Here we go with our 3rd (out of 4) seminar highlight recording from the Xbiz State of the Industry '09 show a few weeks back. The days of ?Content is King? are over forever ? or are they? Maybe we?re on the cusp of a revolution in adult content and the way in which affiliate markets promote it online. We talk formats for content, encoding, and archival purposes; Content production standards for varied markets; The videographers toolkit: equipment, software, and locations; and personalization and Web2.0 infiltrating the members area.

In what happening this week, we cover: an Aussie ISP to stand trial for copyright infringement by its users; Google layoffs; Economic trends in advertising and searches; and what not to do with an industry car wash vacuum.

With customers less and less willing to buy, can someone please tell me logically what is the most important part of the business? After the customer.

For years we have treated the product the customer buys as second or third most important. So tell me that was right and explain we are losing customers to the shittiest sites on the net?

In a time when customers are reluctant to buy driving more of them pass your windows is not a long term solution. If it were we would all be making more money. And I would agree that "The days of ?Content is King? are over forever" but it's not and we're all seeing our incomes fall. (Cue those who never had it so good.)

After 8 years where did we go wrong that a customer prefer a Tube site to a paysite and how do we fix it? Spend more money to send more customers or improve the product?

You have to fast forward past that shit, and get to the interview. Which is normally around the half way point.

I never listen to that front end mess.

Tried it again and got it to work thanks. Some very interesting things said and well worth a listen.

The one complaint I had was the balance between technical discussion and porn discussion. Too much was said about the type of format, camera, editing, lighting etc and not enough about producing porn. Porn is about managing people not about what camera you're holding.

Over all pretty useful and I recommend you guys listen to it. Just skip the first half.
