SO I have been doing some testing with some of the new "TRUE" HD codecs h264, VP6E and the VP6S 720P 2mbps streams. I have come to the conclusion that the VP6S codec performs the best all around and really seems to need less processing power to view the file. SO I thought I would share a little sample of some true HD content. Recorded in HD, encoded from the master into the VP6S codec for viewing in 720P in our X2K Media video player.

In the player there is a little HD button give it a click and let me know what your thoughts are about it. I already know the scene is hot come on now!! Please do not give me shit if your connection sucks I cant help you with that..

We will be making a nice PR next week regarding Matrix Feeds so keep an eye out for it.

HD isn't 2mbps at 1280x720. A dvd has a higher bitrate than that.

Most "HD" content for 720p sponsors has a bitrate of 3.5-4.0 (or higher).

Nevertheless, your content looks good. Just easy it on the "TRUE" HD marketing bullshit.

H.264 you can use a lower bitrate and still get the same quality output. If you want to see a demo of a 1.5mbps stream that will blow your mind with 0 buffering let me know.

I don't get it, I can only go full screen which made it look like shit and being that small it is hard to say, from high quality to HD I can't see much difference.
Also I would think Flash would be harder to pull off then most others, Keep in mind I do not know much LOL. I just finished encoding some in HD but I think I am going to call it super high quality LOL, everyone has an opinion though and my customers opinion is what I go with.

This is not anywhere near Matrix potential, sorry to say.
You guys have some fabulous stuff and great, inventive minds...but that sample is not it.

High pixelation, compression artifacts, buffer lag, ... nah sorry Stephen.

As mentioned several times here already, the bitrate is simply too low. High bitrate requirements ARE an issue with many consumers but again, you can't say it's true HD if it doesn't even have the necessary bits to work with.

With an announcement bashing half of the industry you'll really want to make sure that what you present as TRUE HD is really that.

(BTW, the player functions are nice, but the look needs some serious polishing too to go with the HD look, IMHO).

Now I seem to recall when I was doing content, I ran around talkin HD this and HD that. Little lesson from the past. I happened to shoot in 720P and thats not 720P on the final output. Its gone through a compressor people are going to point that fact out in every thread made about the matter which in turn will down play the actual significance of what you got here.;)

It was pretty low light and yeah that was done with the Sony.

IMHO I think the issue is not so much what can be done but rather that what's being touted as so much better than anything else out there is really just mediocre at best.

Second, you can get encoding solutions that utilize the H.264 codec and has already taken care of the licensing issue.

People have got 720P HD to play at 500K. Its all based on how good your source material and how good your encoding skills are.

It's a first step and will improve.
