Flash and AVCHD help

Ok flash player 9 supports avchd

I have flash cs3 and an avchd encoded video

how the hell do I put it on my server and have my customers play it in flash player?

flash wont encode to avchd or anything similar, so what am I missing? Do I have to have flash media server and hard code it somehow?

am I missing something?

What's the difference if you filmed a video in AVCHD, or HDV or DV? Don't you edit the video, export it locally to a hard drive and then use Adobe Flash Encoder or Flix Pro or Sorenson Squeeze etc to convert the video to Flash on your local drive and only then upload the Flash video to your server? You can reference the Flash files from a web page at that point, right or have them embedded on your html pages?

The point is the new flash is suppossed to be able to stream avchd. I want to work with this but havent found a way to do it yet. Flash doesnt recognize the avchd file no matter what I do to it.

Avchd is just a recording format like HDV or DV. Im thinking Mike is talking about h.264 and .mp4 as per the Cave Creek CDN deal?

I could be wrong.

Yeah I was originally under the impression that you could take the avchd file (.mts) and convert it from there but I guess not.

yes i mean h.264 which avchd is but for the sake of clarity lets say I have an h.264 encoded file I want to stream

flash doesnt seem to recognize any extension as something that doesnt have to be re-encoded except .flv

anyone, anyone? Bueller? anyone?

You have to encode to .mp4 using the h.264 codec And you have to be updated to the latest .flv player and flash player on your own machine. How you get it to h.264 depends on what nle you are using.
