how long does it take Dotster to remove a transfer lock?
I've got 44 domains I want to transfer and I've been refreshing the status for almost an hour now and it sill just says 'submitted'
Like I have nothing better to do with my time today ![]()

Dotster is a strange company.
They are quite big, reliable but the customer support is terrible... oh wait, I mean, they are replying always to your questions, but many of their employees have the IQ of an orangutan. They are just totally incompetent and can't understand basic questions or inquiries. The average female sales rep. who comes straight from McDonald's to work for an adult affiliate program, is a genius compared to the average Dotster employee. Just imagine this: if a Dotster support rep. was reading my above paragraph, he would reply to it "Thank you for the kind words. We are always there to help you" because he would think I just gave them props instead of bashing them. But other than that, they're overall a big, established company which isn't going anywhere I think. Anyway, you didn't even ask about Dotster, you asked about the lock. I'm sure the lock will be removed within the next 24 hours, probably earlier. Unless you have the premium "name safe" lock, in that case, you'll need to complete the lock removal by clicking on a link in an email that you'll receive.

All of my domains in Doster have a transfer lock on them. In my account management, I've clicked on 44 of the domains and set it to remove the transfer lock. Doster says its a batch job, says its submitted and gives me a link to click to refresh the status. It still says submitted (not finished) for an hour and a half now.
I need Doster to remove the transfer lock before I can try to transfer the domains somewhere else. How is this not about Dotster? ![]()

Fucking Dotster... I went and manualy unlocked each domain one at a time because waiting on dotster to do a bulk request wasnt happening.
So then I requested the transfer code from dotster for the domains and did the transfer at the new registrar. New registrar says its waiting on dotster to transfer the domains now. Dotster never sent me an email that it is transferring the domains, I assume they think I know since I requested it but seems weird they didnt send a confirmation. Anybody ever transferred domains from Dotster before? How long did they take to release them? I know they are allowed 5 days but i was hoping they'd release them right away since these are set to expire on friday and I didnt want to pay Dotster $15.45 each to renew them.
