I know my next car is gonna be one thast better on gas. Any idea what ppl get here for selling their USA cars? Nada. Car sales are down in general but having a USA car now is hell and back.

I never bothered to check milage on cars but now I do. 1 euro 60 last month 1 euro 70 this month per litre, its nuts. If this is gonna proceed the $20 per gallon here will be there.

I really wonder how long the US is gonna be able to keep gasprices that low.

One barrel of oil is 42 galons.
42 x $10= $420 = fucking good business

And they're not even taxed on kerosine purchases yet!

People, organisations and governments need to feel the pain in their pockets to take action.

Average margins of big oil companies are less then 10%, so there are a lot of better businesses then being oil company.

This is what you got, when you have FED and Treasury trying by low interest rate policy, to bailout wallstreet banks, without any respect to average Joe, while those yet to bankrupted banks are trying now to get out of their own mess by playing a commodity boom too..

Of course there supply problems too, but the speculation factor is big too as we can see on $16 surge in the price of oil on small dollar devaluation over two last trading days last in recent week.

The Central Eurobank head told it few weeks ago: "to cut interest rates at this point would be the same as taxing the people to bail out the banks. Cost of extra inflation would be the ultimate sign of moral hazard to save banks."

now you guys in the US got a pay for monetary policy of your institutions, in addition to supply problems.

We actually pay 50-60% income tax aswell.
+ pretty huge tax on owing houses
+ about 300% or something tax on new cars.
+ environmental taxes on electricity, water, getting rid of water etc.
+ 25% wat on all you buy
(on water for instance I pay twice as much in tax and wat, as I pay for the water itself)

Damn, getting pretty expencive just living when you think about it *lol*

i pay $500 per month for healthcare and about 30-40% income tax. plus 19% VAT on everything

and about $9 per gallon for gas

Similar situation here in Melbourne Australia. I live about 25km from the city in a new and upcoming area (5 years ago my house was a paddock), right on the fringes of the official metro area. People buy here because they can get larger AND cheaper blocks to fit their homes on, but the downside is that for most things they'll probably need to travel further. Rising petrol prices are a serious concern because the benefits of cheaper land are being outweighed by the increasing costs of travel to and from work. Add in several interest rate rises that have happened in Australia within the last few years and some people are in serious trouble.
