Firefox problem - doesn't load always load images

Does anybody else have this problem? I have FF3 installed. The problem was with FF2 also, but I can't always see the external images people add to posts at GFY. I have to often refresh 2 times for them to load. Anybody have an idea on what's up?

Great topic title.

It sounds like some timeout problem or something, that it stops getting data after X seconds.

Few questions that would help determine the problem:

Are you only having this problem with gfy.com?
Only external images wont load?
Are you behind a proxy, firewall/router?
Using any filter software or firefox extensions?
Works OK with Internet Explorer?

There can be quite a few reasons for that to happen, from faulty cache to dns issues.

However, I think one main reason may be ipv6. So try this and see if it helps:

In the address bar, type in "about:config" and press enter and confirm it.

Now search for "network.dns.disableIPv6" and change it from false to true by double clicking on it.

Now restart FF and see if that makes any difference for you.

Some sites don't load, like FF is trying to load them super fast and gets ahead of itself. It happens 1-2 times per day. But images always have the problem.

Only external images wont load?
True

Are you behind a proxy, firewall/router?
Linksys router

Using any filter software or firefox extensions?
No, and no prefetch or fasterfirefox or ad/image blocking

Works OK with Internet Explorer?
IE works perfectly fine, that's what I don't get it. I even uninstalled today, removed all settings/folders, and removed the mozilla entries from my registry, then reinstalled and have the same issue. It's the only problem.

StuartD
I'll give this a shot for a day thanks.

Still having the problem. I'll plug directly into the modem and see if that changes anything.
