Rafa Nadal Wins Over Federer to Take Wimbeldon Title

What an incredible Men's Tennis Final at Wimbledon...the final score was 6-4, 6-4, 6-7, 6-7, 9-7.

Congratulations to Rafael Nadal for finally defeating Roger Federer on grass, whom had won the tournament five times in a row (including wins over Nadal in the last two Wimbledon Finals).

It was a marathon match, nearly five hours of playing time, which was interrupted twice with rain delays - so the total time on court (and for spectators, such as myself, who awoke at 6am to start watching), the match lasted over 7 hours.

First Spain wins their first Euro Cup Soccer title in 44 years, and now their first Wimbledon Men's title in 42 years (since 1966).

Must be some wild celebrating amongst their sports fans.

Nadal, the 3-time French Open Champion is also the first person in 28 years to win the French Open and Wimbledon in the same summer (Bjorn Borg was the last person to do that in 1980).

Damn, I had a feeling that was going to be an awesome match but it started around 11pm our time and I was just too wiped to stay awake and watch it.

Unfortunately for Roger, this time Rafa was carrying a kitchen sink in his tennis bag...

Experts say this might be one of the best, if not the best match to have ever been played in finals of a major tournament..

Was a really great match. Sucked that it had 2 rain delays, but I think if it hadn't had 2 rain delays, Nadal would have taken it in 3 and that woulda been boring.

Basically same thing happened as when John McEnroe won his first Wimbledon against Borg, Borg had won 5 times in a row, and loosing against McEnroe was the end of him as the best world player. I am happy for my country man Rafa Nadal, hope he soon gets to be ranked number 1 . Well done Rafa: thumbsup
