SEO: Would a PPC landing page organically rank slower?

Just curious if anyone has noticed this, obviously if organically ranked most people wouldn't bother w/ PPC.

Do SE's take advantage of this & possibly suppress organic ranking if you're already shelling out the bucks?

When you're dealing with PPC ads, you are more often than not dealing with non-search friendly links and iframes. Don't hold your breath on a page only consisting of PPC ad units ranking high in the engines.

BTW - If anyone is looking for a PPC network that is very adult friendly, I run AdDistributor.

I think you are misunderstanding his question a bit turboface

in fewer words, I think he basically means, that if you buy traffic from google, will they prevent your organic search engine rankings from being higher because they want you to keep buying traffic instead

correct me if I'm wrong tical

it's not a hardlink, so it carries no weight.

and to give my gut feeling answer to the original question, I think it might possibly be the opposite, where big ppc customers might actually find their sites ranking higher... but that might just be coincidence, as everything else still has to be in order such as links etc (it would be too obvious and scandalous if high ad budget sites with zero backlinks outranked those that deserved to be higher in the organic results

I have seen sites with million dollar google ad budgets ranking high first page in the organic rankings, so that kind of backs up the thought that it shouldn't hurt you at all to spend money with google

Technically, the answer is 'no' - not by design (as you suggested) or another reason. Google has long maintained they do not manipulate rankings, except to, for example, penalize spammy sites that the algos didn't catch.

So yes, they could be doing it but certainly it would not be a smart idea. First, they would get discovered quickly. There are a lot of SEOs with way too much time on their hands, for one thing, and if Company X noticed all their sites/pages dropping shortly after using AdWords ... and a few others chimed in claiming the same, Google would get called out big-time for doing so .. Lawsuits and all.

I'm not sure if I understand your question correctly, but from what I gathered, you're asking if a landing page will get into the SE's slower because you're buying ads from Google/Yahoo. The answer is supposed to be no and it seems that way in real life (I never believe anything Google tells me until i try it for myself).

Now on the flip side, I tend to find the opposite is true. The more hits you start to get to your site, the more quickly I find that page will get ranked organically. As to my theory to why, I'm guessing its people who have the Google toolbar installed and its sharing new urls to their spider through that.

No but the opposite is correct across the board. You are not going to rank for PPC valuable keywords because they want you to put the $$$ into their pockets and they get nothing if you rank organically. This ofcourse only applies to new(er) sites.
