No more pre checked cross sales on rev share galleries!

Dear affiliates,

We have taken the initiative and removed all pre checked cross sales
off our rev share links.. This happened about 10 days ago!

I wasn't going to announce this to stir up drama but every affiliate I have talked to has told me to let post a thread because it was the right thing for us to do for our fast growing
program...

We spend over 200k a month on shooting, and updating our sites and never, ever have we
missed an exclusive update, ever on any day, since we started in 12/05 and plan to keep it that way!

Again we are in this for the long run!

Get ready for www.RockStarPimp.com which is in Beta and is exploding already!
And will soon hit the mainstream press!

Let's see how many programs will follow me...

No you didn't.. I just checked the revshare links for 4 of your sites.. All of them still have the cross sells on them, they're just not "checked"... So the issue is still the same.. the affiliate isn't "revenue sharing" if the surfer checks the boxes..

he said they've removed the "pre checked" xsells, not the xsells themselves.

Bro, we don't have any rights to that money anyway. A program does everything for you...provides you pre-made hosted galleries and other tools, then we simply link 'em up and make money off of the sale. Fuck, they even send us the damn links in our email because I don't have time to go to the admin area.

You're not getting paid for "traffic", you're getting paid to make a sale to a specific site. Damn. On revshare you're making 50% of the gross. You don't have to pay shit. On the other hand, the program owner is paying for production, hosting, biller costs, and declines and other related credit card bullshit. If it's a $34.99 membership and it's revshare...here is the breakdown:
Affiliate (you): $17.49
Biller costs : $6.12
Program Owner: $$11.38

And that is at 50%. You can do the math yourself to see what happens at 60% and 70% and some of these programs doing 80%

We affiliates are already making the lions share of the money that the site owner did all the work for. Hell, I WANT the site owners to make as much money as they can. I want them to succeed. This is a symbiotic relationship. Neither can survive without the other. Start making it impossible for the paysite to thrive and you end up with a site that doesn't update and starts faltering.

Yeah, I agree that 3 or 4 hidden pre-checks is excessive. And it's our decision on whether to promote those programs.

Sorry dude.. You're on the wrong side of this one and If I remember correctly you're asociated with them so your opinion on this matter doesn't mean much since you're clearly biased.. Nothing you or anyone else says is going to change the minds of revshare affiliates so don't even both trying to justify it.

90% of my sales to $I comes from material I develop myself, not from FHGs.. So please don't tell me I don't have any "rights" to the money they make off the traffic I develop and send to them. They can put cross sales on PPS all they want.. but it's simply a slap in the face to put it on revshare links and then say they're "revenue sharing". They don't want to share the revenue? Then don't offer revenue sharing. I suspect that the majority of their traffic and sales comes from PPS anyway.. And given how few purchacers actually end up paying for cross sells, and even fewer that will atually check the boxes, it just doesn't make sense to alienate revshare affiliates for the few bucks it will actually make.

Regardless, I don't really care since I only do PPS with them as they're not a program I feel comfortable building a long term relationship with for a variety of reasons... But on another board they're on the list of programs that don't pay out true revshare due to cross sells and given what they've done, I don't think they're going to get removed... I'm just letting them know the reality of the situation and they can do whatever they want...

And just because you may build your own promo tools doesn't make you special either. I was building galleries with content that I had to buy and host myself back in 1997 so that doesn't mean anything to this conversation.

You are ignoring the costs that I pointed out...and I didn't even include the fact that the site owner gets charged EVERYtime a surfer tries to join but gets declined. And did I mention chargebacks? Oh yeah. Not only does the site owner lose the money for the sale...but then the bank charges the site owner an extra 50+ dollars per chargeback. And that's on top of all the other costs associated.

I'm not saying anything except that I think there's way too much being made of this. A site owner SHOULD be making good money. If they don't, they will find something better to do.

I don't know who you are or what you do to generate traffic. So I'm not real sure how much weight your thoughts on this carry. I'm gonna assume you make good money and send good traffic for the sake of the conversation. I would say that in this time and this day and age...any affiliate program that is converting for you is the one you should promote. Screaming about the paysite owner trying to make enough money to be lucrative isn't conducive to anything.

I know your mind is made up, and I'm not trying to argue with you in any way. I'm just saying, stop, take a deep breath, and just consider what I'm saying. That's all.
