Wirelss Connection for laptops higher?
right now my wireless chip internally is only picking up 54 mbps. How do i get a new chip? Who sells them? I just bought the best linksys router that has dual band like antennas and shit crazy and the wireless chip is not good i guess. Does anyone know where I can get a better chip?

Out of interest, why do you want a faster wireless connection? Surely you don't have that fast an Internet connection, and for anything serious over a network, you'd be better off with Gigabit Ethernet anyway.

I bought the linksys 10/100/gigabit ethernet WRT600N
I have a great connection and its good on the wireless 54mbps but i want more range for the wireless, I want to be deep in my backyard and still be pushing buttons. Also upstairs we connect the laptop to the 60' HD and watch movies and shit like that. |

You can - all the "Centrino chip" is, is an Intel-approved mini-PCI card that you can usually replace yourself. I could probably help you further if you post your laptop make and model number so that I can look into what your upgrade options are.
