New Software For Handling AVCHD/MTS Files...
I know some of you guys are working with video cameras that shoot MTS files. If your trying to edit this kind of file on a dual core computer, your probably having a very difficult time. These files are heavily compressed and your computer is having a very hard time with it.
NewBlueFX and Vasst have come up with a beautiful piece of software that'll convert those MTS files into M2T files (MPG2) which makes it much easier to work with in your editor. I'm sure there is some slight degradation but honestly...I can't see it. The converted files are just beautiful and play so much nicer now in my video editor. I'm on a quad-core but was still having issues with playing these types of files. The price for the software is about $50 but it's worth it IMO. Check it out if ya' wanna.... |

Yea, I think it's worth it. The only issue I'm having is that even though I set up a destination folder for the converted files, the software continues to deposit them into my documents folder. Small issue that'll hopefully be fixed soon. I've written to DSE about it, will let you know when he responds!
