Admittedly odd question for UK folks that watch BBC News
Has anybody else noticed that the women the do the weather on BBC News (both the 24 hour news station and the normal news broadcasts) are nearly always pregnant. Even when one goes away to give birth it is bound to only be a few months before she is forecasting with a bump again. It isn't just one weather woman but just about all of them that show up doing the weather end up pregnant.
Very odd. |

I wouldn't say that I worry about it but more that after years of noticing the pattern it started to strike me as particularly odd. Maybe the license fee has gone up to cover the maternity pay.

The BBC pay good salaries and pay maternity leave for 12 months on full pay. I guess they sprout babies to get off work for a year
![]() Its the same on Radio1. Edith Bowman is off right now and they have a string of DJ's standing in for her. Jo Whiley is pregnanat again too, she'll be going off soon and someone will take over her show. |

I cant say Ive noticed but my wifes hairdressers always seem to get pregnant, then their replacements do. I think she is on her 4th in a little over 2 years or something, it wouldnt be so bad but women are so fussy about haircuts and the adjusting to new stylists always creeps her out (which invariably means I cop it as she is tetchy).
