I Cannot Connect To The Net
I cannot connect to the net with IE or Firefox using my laptop. However, google talk and msn messenger do work. Seriously WTF? Can anybody help?

So I decided to call my ISP and ask for help:
Here is the transcript between myself and the www.videotron.com asshole: ('urbanpimp') is connected: Welcome to Vidéotron's online help tool. urbanpimp: Cannot connect firefox and internet explorer.. however google talk and msn messg Videotron: An agent will be with you shortly. Thank you for your patience. ('Bryan') is connected: urbanpimp: Cannot connect firefox and internet explorer.. urbanpimp: but messenger and google talk can work Bryan: Welcome to Videotron online technical support. Bryan: For security reasons, I need to ask you your date of birth and you mother's maiden name. urbanpimp: i have this problem with videotron and sympatico... so the problem is not your network (i am using it now on this computer) but perhaps with my laptop urbanpimp: xxx xxx xxx urbanpimp: xxxxxxxxxx Bryan: As you said, the problem does not seem to be from our network, but directly on your computer. If you need help with your computer, we suggest you contact a specialized computer technician. urbanpimp: a little insight from you would be very appreciated Bryan: We do not offer support on your computer. try flushing your browser cache... then flushing your DNS ... from CMD >>> ipconfig /flushdns

You have a valid point. However, had I not mentioned that messenger services worked they would have helped me out. Furthermore, this was an online chat and in the time the fellow spent with me he could have helped me out. They have no obligation to help, but, a little help would have been appreciated. There are companies out there that go above and beyond. Nothing wrong with that. To bad videotron is not one of those companies.

Reboot. If that doesn't work, turn off your pc again, reset your cable/dsl modem (if you have one), then reset your router (if you have one) and then boot once more. If that doesn't work then open up a command prompt with "cmd" ping yahoo.com to see if you get a reply... If you do get a reply your dns is okay If not, it's your ISP's fault. Call and complain and/or change your DNS to OpenDNS' servers. 208.67.222.222 208.67.220.220
