This thread pisses me off on so many levels.


A guy who works for a program that I send traffic to....posting under the name of the program, starts a thread asking if they should use tax dollars to rebuild a U.S. city, while I watch the tracking map of a storm that's about to bash into my fucking house.
The same type of storm that consistently bashes into Miami, the home city of the person who started this stupid fucking thread.

I would like to remind the thread starter that either he, or his parents, or at most his grandparents, floated here on a fucking piece of driftwood and MY TAX DOLLARS and my parent's and grandparent's tax dollars taught his family how to speak English in the public schools that you were automatically entitled to go to once you were "feet dry". You and your family were also entitled to use of our public hospitals and numerous other benefits just because you decided to take a boat trip here.

At least the people of New Orleans have been paying federal taxes all of their lives, not to mention the massive federal oil revenues generated by offshore drilling in the Gulf (drilling that couldn't happen without our permission) before making any claim to federal relief dollars.

You and your family, and tens of thousands more in your community were given federal aid long before you ever paid one red cent into our treasury. You should look at the glass walls around you before you throw stones Erasmo. You should also not use The Score Group's name when starting threads that will insult your affiliates.


Now if you'll excuse me I have some last minute preparations to make before this storm comes. Please feel free to continue the discussion about whether or not the people in my area are worthy of the full range of government services because of our altitude.

Unless you are Native American, your relatives are not originally from here either. So they came here from another country as well. I doubt that many people in New Orleans have paid taxes at all let alone their whole lives. Huge population there on welfare.

Your point was stupid. That is not my fault. New Orleans is full of of people on welfare. Plus they had three years to get their shit together. Miami is full of many Cubans who work. My point was that immigrants today, especially ones who are given legal status as soon as they get here, should be the last people complaining about where federal tax dollars get spent, considering that so many dollars are spent on them and their families before they ever contribute to the national treasury.

New Orleans is not full of people on welfare. Please provide some data other than what you heard on fox news during hurricane Katrina if you're going to continue to insult the people here. New Orleans today is alot different than the New Orleans of 5 years ago.

The federal government is in charge of building and maintaining the levees. State and Local Governments have absolutely no say in this matter. It is federal law and we have no choice but to be at the mercy of the feds. The FEDERAL GOVERNMENT decided to have a timeline for rebuilding our levees that would have them completed in 2011. The levees breaking is why New Orleans flooded last time, and the levees being topped and/or broken this time will be why New Orleans floods, if it floods.

It might make you feel better to think that it's the fault of all the stupid blacks on welfare who were lazy during the last 3 years and didn't prepare properly....but the person at fault is a Yale educated white guy from a wealthy family who lives on Pennsylvania Ave, along with the people who work for him.

The immigrants there are legal citizens and they do work so they can bitch all they want about where the money goes. They pay taxes too. It does not matter that you have paid then longer then some of them. As for the people on welfare in New Orleans would you like the stats before or after Hurricane Katrina because I have both. Plenty were on it before the hurricane. It is not that bad there now because many people moved to Texas so they will drain that state. I do not have a reading issue. The VAST MAJORITY of New Orleans residents are gainfully employed and pay taxes, not to mention all of the people who live in the suburbs and commute to New Orleans to work, further expanding the tax base. Your assertion that we have to fix the city every few years is equally stupid. Katrina was the first hurricane to damage New Orleans in over 40 years, and had the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT done their job properly in building the levees, even Katrina wouldn't have been a problem.

You can blame the black underclass, or welfare, or Louisiana politicians all you want, but the fact is, the flooding of New Orleans was a failure of the Federal Government, NOT the State or the City or the people on welfare.
If you're really concerned about the waste of money in rebuilding, then write your congressman and Senators and ask them to support levees for New Orleans that can withstand a category 5 hurricane.

Yes we should use only the tax money collected from NO to pay for the rebuilding. Take the money from the federal funding of roads, schools, welfare and so on. No tax money that was collected outside of NO should be used.

This thread would be easy if there were no income taxes. People could just donate money and the case would be closed.
