Bout Ready to Throw My Fist Through My Computer...
3 Quick things... any other options I can do to clean out viruses/spyware/malware OTHER than already doing the following: ...my shits STILL slow after doing all this...
Disc Clean Up on BOTH C: & D: Running Defender Pro Spyware & Virus Spybot Search & Destroy Spyware Dr. CCleaner -&- Windows Defender 'bout all I have NOT done is a disc defrag... would this even help?! ![]() #2... If anyone knows how to get rid of the Dr. Watson error, that'd be super... that things beginning to piss me off, freezing up my programs & shuttin shit down... ![]() and 3... How would I go about getting up-to-date drivers (USB, Video, Etc...) for a Dell Inspirion 1100 that can NOT get onto the internet through updated downloads that way. His internet runs through a USB port on a laptop and since the USB Driver isn't working, I can get updates on it. Does anyone know if the Service Pack 2 Win. XP will help? His computer originally came with SP1... ![]() Thanks in advance!!! ![]() |

Turn off system restore, run all your scans in safe mode, download a good registry cleaner... Defrag, reboot...

Why are you wasting your time?

the best fix for everything is to backup all needed date and re-install. You can never really be 100% sure you got rid of everything except for this way.

Sure you aren't running so many cleanup and defender programs you are actually bogging your system?

i've backed up and restored... I'm trying to prevent doing a disc wipe of it all because a lot of my programs and such I don't have on disc anymore... Like my Photoshop CS2... I'd probably hafta hack a new version since it's an ass raping for a new one... along with everything else.
Plus I'm finding out, restoring to original format, like I just did for my friends tonight isn't working... his drives aren't loading properly from the factory discs given to him for his shitty Dell. |

Dells are shitty but they have great support finding drivers is easy.. How old is the dell? is it old enuff that it doesn't have a Service ID Tag on the back? You can enter that tag id into Dell's website and it will show you all the info on that system including drivers.. Google google google.. |

Its 5 yrs old I believe... I think he got it in 03... least that's all the dates I'm finding. The issue is since we can't access the 'net from his computer because the USB port driver isn't functioning, we can't get his internet to work, to find these uploads.
I was gonna try to install XP SP2 instead of the SP1 that his computer originally had, but didn't know if that'd help... ...plus the deal with wiping my computer has been a mess, when I last had to do it bout 8 months ago, turned out to be a total pain in the ass trying to find current and valid keygens w/o viruses for the software I was using. I soon just try to fix it in its current state. It's working pretty fast considering and none of my spyware/visus programs or runs have found anything, I just have the "Dr. Watson" issue... I plan on doing a defrag later to see if that helps more. |

Well one thing is if you don't have a copy of XP to install downloading and patching that can be a serious pita...
*shrug* I have no problem finding serials and warez.. i'm such a horrible person but it's not fault.. My dad was cheap I had no choice! |

hahahaha... I hear ya...
I believe my copy of XP with the SP2 is valid... I have the SN here... least I hope it's STILL valid... would that even work for my friends computer in helping patch up the issue with the drivers? Atleast the USB so I can get online from his and start doing updating!? |

I've had very similar probllems before too. Took it to a trusted family computer wiz and had it cleaned as best as possible. But was told that finding viruses or hacker shit on your pc can sometimes be like finding a needle in a haystack. It's the nature of the beast. Be careful. Good luck!
