Texts of law in Holland

hi ,

I'm thinking of starting up a company in Holland,
but I was wondering if you guys have some useful legal info,
jurisprendence, precedents, or texts of law in Holland
related to the protection of minors on the internet for companies based in Holland.

thanks for your input!

Watch out which lawyer you choose and who is doing your taxes. If your not a native dutch, everyone will try to fuck you over. 2,5k euro for opening a B.V. will cost you 3,5k in the end if you have bad luck. Make sure you get "flat-rate" deals!
Id recommend to open a B.V. over here in the netherlands, keeping the loose/profit very minimale and getting the cash out of the country. The taxes arent that high for an owner of a B.V. but paying nothing is still better then feeding the gov..

To open up a NEW limited company (called a B.V.) you pay around 1000 to 1200 for the notary's office, around 350 per year for the chamber of commerce.
Law requires you deposit at least 18.000 euro which must be in your dutch bank account at least 2 days so the bank can send that statement to the notary's office to complete your company. You COULD take this 18.000 euro out again after a few days, but...if the company ever goes bankrupt, a liquidator/lawyer COULD hold you personally responsible for the bankrupty.

VAT taxes must be paid every quarter unless you get bigger (then it's monthly) or if you turn out to be small it's once per year.
Taxes over WAGES to staff must be paid per month (if you have any).
Profit taxes must be paid around 6 months after the year has ended and the tax office then ALSO sends you "an estimate" for the coming year which you can pay partialy in monthly installments I recall.

If you buy a USED or "off the shelf" BV (they sell stuff like hat between 500 and 5000), only thing to be carefull with is the history of such a used company for the buyer is responsible for the past ! Notary costs in these cases I estimate at 500 to 800 somewhere.

Law is Holland is based on written law (not a jury like in US and rulings of judges with older cases).
All law books together could be a mile long maybe. Each lawyer has it's own specialty in practice. Laws change or are updated a lot in Holland, so what's legal today could be illegal the year after.

They are actually going to scratch the 18k thing. Or they already have, read something about it recently. Mainly because it's obvious you can take the money back so there's no real function for the whole deposit deal.
