So you're a designer, right? Well, maybe not, but pretend you are for a second.

I select you to design a logo. Along with a letter explaining my vision I even go so far as to send a scan of a toon that I've drawn myself. To finish off I tell you that I'm also looking for more work in the immediate future.

Now...

Given all that info, would you

A) Fail to answer emails in a timely manner (ie within 12 to 24 hours), fail to answer icqs at all, send an image without explaining that I can have psds and a revision, send a final jpg without any explanation whatsoever (ie hope you like, Kristian), do a job less than that advertised in your portfolio

or, would you

B) Keep the client as happy as possible, knowing there would be future work for you?

A or B folks, A or B.

This must be what happens when you pay in advance, explain exactly what you want, let the designer get on with it without bugging them about it, and ask for one revision. Silly me.

Considering the options you offer, I would decline both and roll up caca beads and put them in your salad.

Now, you see, me, I'm an option B guy. If someone were to offer me the promise of another contract I would do a great job, therefore ensuring I got the next contract.

In actuality I wouldn't need option B. I'd just do a great job all the time.

Why would you pay in advance???

That makes as little sense as choosing option "A".

Do a great job all the time is good You got to have pride in your work, for you and your clients and your reputation will speak for itself.
