Ive seen now two of them in two days. Someone is offered something and the person says no thank you that has high fructose corn syrup. The person offering says why is that bad ? The person has a blank look on their face. Then they talk about how fine it is in moderation.
People must be dropping their consumption of it, good fuck them.

how about cutting out sugar all together.. people are fat because they eat way more calories then they expend.. its not just a problem with sugar and high fat foods, its a problem with a society based on junk food, fast food, and poor exercise habits...

I sure make the effort to, aspartame sucks - Anyway, indeed, not healthy. Also fooling your body/brain, you taste something sweet (180x sweeter than sugar) so your body thinks you are consuming sugar. Your body prepares itself but doesnt get any sugar. It fucks you up and makes you crave more sugar.

I hear people say that all the time but you don't understand. Once you get used to diet soda, regular soda tastes like syrup. You just can't drink it. So even if you never diet again, diet soda is what you'll be drinking once you acquire a taste for it.

I started drinking Diet Rite, which was, well, like flat cola. After this, I can't really even stand non-Splenda diet colas.. I can taste the chemicals, and if I'm wasting 200 calories, it's not on a goddamn fizzy drink.

When you were kids , only your father worked and we ate 3 meals a day at home 7 days a week and 6 of those meals had meat. My mother said I dont know how families do it now.

Corn syrup does have a much higher glycemic index than regular sugar if I remember correctly. So if you drink a HFCS beverage with a meal, your body will go into storage mode.

They use it because it's cheaper.

I rarely drink cola anymore but once in while I'll get an ice cold Coke and it tastes soooooooo good.

I know this isn't a brand new thread but.....our mother's memory and the facts are at odds.

Sure in terms of spending $X per week at the grocery store, things were cheaper then....but as a percentage of a families income, food is cheaper now than at any time in human history.

The numbers may be a little off because there has been a spike in food prices just this year, but speaking in terms of the last decade or so.....cheapest food and biggest variety of food in human history.
