McCain blames Obama for defeat

"Their partisan attacks were an effort to gain political advantage during a national economic crisis. By doing so, they put at risk the homes, livelihoods and savings of millions of American families," said the statement, released in the name of senior policy adviser Douglas Holtz-Eakin.

Partisan attacks (words) hurt their feelings, so they said fuck you and voted to screw the people. Yeah, real mature. These are the type of people you want to represent you? Vote them out.

Nancy Pelosi hurt my feelings, so I'm going to vote to get her back instead of vote for the people I represent. Even if it puts their homes and savings at risk. Boo hoo.

Well that would be what they call in the industry "taking the bait"

Which is exactly what McCain wants.....Obama is alot better at this than most give him credit for, he's doing the right thing by not responding to every little thing McCain says or does because that lets McCain control the conversation.

Apparently he was too busy eating at a 120 dollar per plate restaurant to be bothered with the details.

He does not eat at the local McDonalds. He went for a real lunch that most likely cost in excess of 300$ and paid for by the tax payers.

You do realize people are writing their congressman 200-1 AGAINST this bailout. So now if you're a congressman running for re-election in 5 weeks you're going to vote for this?

It's not 200-1 against, it's more like 2-1 against. Don't exaggerate to make your point, it makes you less credible.

If the leader of your party runs around saying "country first country first country first" then yeah, you should vote for this because it's for the good of the country.

What ever happened to all of the "rather lose an election than lose a whatever" talk?

People only worried about their own necks come re-election time is how we got into the Iraq war and how the PATRIOT act passed.....both of which were NOT good for the country.

Today's vote is another in a long list of reasons that we need term limits in congress. If 1/3 of the people voting today weren't on a ballot in November this would have passed easily.

You're assuming his is actually good for the country which is not a proven fact.

That was McCain. Doesn't mean anyone else believes that.

They tried to get term limits before and it failed. You also realize the term limits means people like Ron Paul who ALWAYS votes against pork spending would not be in office right now. There will never be term limits.

I guess he missed the fact that about 65% of the House Republicans voted against it

Hey McCain is the leader of his party...the "titular" leader of his party as he and Joe Lieberman have said. If he can't "lead" his party to vote for something he himself has said we need and that he would vote for....then all his claims about "leadership" really don't mean shit do they?

I didn't say we needed term limits because of pork barrel spending....I don't think one has anything to do with the other really. (A term limited congressman still has to come home and live in his district once his terms are up..why wouldn't he want new roads and bridges and libraries there?)
We need term limits for many many many other reasons.

The republicans in 1994 ran on a promise of term limits, and once they had the majority they decided they didn't need term limits anymore.
Then lo and behold, 10-15 years later, Washington corrupted them too.

I think we will, eventually, get term limits....but not this year or next, that's for sure.

2/3 republicans. Funny how they blame democrats when Dems gave the promised votes. Fucking retards. Im just shocked that there are that many Republicans that arent blindly voting this garbage through. About time some asses were held to the fire. Mccain is a joke. Anyone who tries to deny that loses all credibility and anyone even heard talking positivly about Palin being the VP should be held in custody under the patriot act.
