Who's had LASIK done?

Any problems?

All good?

I read stories about some having night blindness and it's scaring me off.

I'm hearing more bad stories as the years go by.... the technology is still rather young in the scope of long term lifetime terms

I have two relatives that aren't often willing to drive at night anymore due to problems with night vision and moreso when it rains, and they had the lasik years ago

That sucks. Makes you think twice about having lasik done.

I had it done about 4 or 5 years ago. No problems at all. Don't notice any of the night time problems I'd read about, etc.

It's on the list as one of the best things I've ever done for myself.

I had it done about 4 months ago. I do get dry eyes toward the end of the evening but overall, I am extremely pleased and would do it again in a heartbeat.

I had mine done a little over a year ago and its without a doubt the best $2,000 I've ever spent in my entire life. I'm now seeing 20/15 which is better than 20/20. I also had the occasional dry eyes for around the first 2-3 months but then it worked out fine. Im so happy with the work, I'd also do it again in a heartbeat.

I can see pretty good without contacts but I've been thinking about LASIK. I guess the doctor should do a dark eye exam to see how large your pupils get. All the problems people have with night vision is due to the pupil opening larger than the area corrected by the laser causing unfocused light to bleed into your vision. If the doc does a proper exam and fully dilates your eye in the dark as part of the exam, nobody should have nightvision halos and starbursts. Problem is a few doctors don't bother or don't care about this test.

Don't they have a new version where they don't even have to cut that little flap?

I have had in done like 3 years ago.
The laser treatment itself is not very painfull. The toughest part is where they hook your eyelids so they dont cross the laser.
I have had a night of pain myself cause the doctor was so stupid to put the lens (You get lenses of +0 for a few days for protection) inside out. The next morning that was corrected though and I have gone 3 years now with perfect eyevision. Best decision I ever made.

I was gonna get it done, but the doctors refused...

Apparently one of the requirements of getting it done is not having perfect vision

I just wanted freaking lazer beams in my eyes!

I had it done 3 years ago. It's not painful at all and I really felt reborn after the intervention!

However, I do have night vision problems. mynameisjim is absolutely right regarding the size of the pupil. My pupils are 1mm wider than normal, and it seems that's the reason why I have those problems now. Surgeon didn't inform me properly, and it seems there is no solution for this problem.

Anyway, I still have a better vision than before.

I had mine done in Bellevue Wa. and cannot say I have a single compaint. All the stuff they said might happen - didn't. I had terrible vision... could not recognize friends and family four feet away if I wasn't wearing glasses or lenses, actually legally blind. They told me that they would correct but don't expect not to still have to wear some prescription. That was the only part they got wrong. I came away with better than 20/20.

When the doctor was about to do the surgery, which took all of 20 seconds per eyeball, he asked "May I say a prayer before we start?" I looked up at him with the last of my crappy vision and said "As long as you don't kill a chicken and pour blood on me then I think I'll be fine."

When I walked out of the operation, through the waiting room with my eyes a bit bleary but able to see (a miracle!) there was a stack of people all in line for their surgery and they all looked at me plaintively seeking some sort of confidence that it would be ok. I pawed my face, wasn't hard to look like I was crying since the eye drops were dripping down, I screamed, "I can't see! I can't see!" They all stared at me which btw I could see now without my contacts and I said "Just kidding!"

The world looks a whole lot better from there on.

My brother had his done years before me too and his are fine too.

I didn't feel a thing. Hardly bothered me at all for the day, make that ONE day of recovery. Only weird part is those "clockwork orange" lid openers but I though that was kind of cool... I just wanted to say "eggiwegs... I like... to smash them."

I had PRK done which took my eyes a bit longer to heal than if I'd had the regular lasik. My vision was blurry for the first month or so but now I'm seeing 15/15

I don't have any night vision problems but like others have said sometimes my eyes get a bit dry. No big deal though.

I'm very happy with the procedure
