HELP! How To Rid My Place of Centipedes?

I get these house centipedes every year. Usually just one here or there in the tub. But this year has been bad. They've obviously been building up forces for some time and have waged a battle against me. It's been out of control, killing 1-2 of these fuckers a day in the basement area. They've even started making their assault upstairs.

Anyone have experience killing bugs? I have Orkin coming out tomorrow but want something that I can do on my own. Running a dehumidifier downstairs at the moment too. Does Boric Acid work well? What about bug bombs?

This is what I'm dealing with, I have no problem sacrificing my health to rid my home of these.

Get a cat. Mine will eat anything that moves. It ate a gigantic furry spider last night.

Hate them fuckers. Only saw 2 or 3 total this year and that was when the condensation pipe on our ac unit plugged up and started leaking. I didnt catch it for a few days then unplugged it and got everything dried out. Found the ones that showed up shortly after that, so moisture is def what they are there seeking out. Dehumidifier should help.

I think I just threw up a little bit in my mouth.

I have a bug guy come out here monthly to spray. Over 2 years here, and I've seen maybe 3 bugs in the house.

They're don't really bite, are not vectors of disease. Don't get all up in arms over a little insect like that. Just get a cat.

What you want are some glue boards:

Example: http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/tr...rds-p-134.html

You should be able to get them at a local store.

Place them on the floor along the walls in the secluded and hidden areas of your basement.

that is good advice, and no poisonous residue in the air and in your home

Sure they bite, and it hurts about as much as a horsefly bite or a bee sting.

Strange thing is I haven't seen one since I moved to a farm. When I lived in the burbs they were always kicking around in the basement. Even when I bought a newly built townhouse.

I don't care about the bite, I just think they are disgusting. Seriously scares the shit out of me to see these fucks sprint across the floor at warp speed. I don't mind big spiders, snakes, etc, but these guys are the devil.

And what is that bug you are raising?

They like moisture, so a dehumidifier is perfect for a basement in IL I'd say!
I hate those ugly things.

I'm assuming the collection isn't all live I think that's awesome.some people collect boots and cigars, you collect bugs.probably worth a mint if you wanted to breed or sell them?
