The reputation system is standard in vbulletin. It's currently disabled here on GFY.

They should add a link in the dropdown when you click someone's name in a thread, to add them as friend. I'm too lazy to go enter people's names

there is a link on the right side on the profile page, under the friends box, "Befriend _____"

its pretty easy to just click that, it is what I have been doing.

But yeah one click less would be faster.
