What to do if someone steals your CCBILL Checks?

What would you do if someone steals your checks and cash them somewhere else? Maybe the mail guy, or who knows.

Other than setting your payment method to Wire, what would you do?

I think I would call the police. That's fraud and if they get caught they could be facing prison time.

Are you sure it's stolen and not lost? My dumbass mail man can't read worth a shit and has put mine in the wrong box along with my bank statement . Thank goodness the neighbor gave it back to me. I hate the mail man here.

Hi guys, the check has been stolen, because I asked ccbill and they said that it has been cashed. Apparently, once it's cashed there is nothing they can do.

How could they cash it? Doesn't it say your name/company name on it?? If it says your company name on it, and someone cashed it, they would have to have a company name similar enough to yours to fool the bank. Maybe one letter different. CCBill should be able to tell you where it was cashed, and then it is a matter for the police.

Get the cashed check back from ccbill, then bring it to the police. Problem solved. Thats all you can really do and hope it plays out for you.

We can certainly start an investigation with our bank.

Send me the information and I can get the process started.

Go to the police station and make a report. Stealing mail is a federal offense. Plus there have been a few cases where it was the mail man or woman doing it.

What does the part about a few postal workers have to do with anything really? Hell if we want to follow that logic, there have been a few cases where ones parents were the ones doing it. Also heard it could be a neighbor, or even a complete stranger.

Now to the original poster. Aside from getting CCbills help and talking to local law enforcement and such. You also should be checking your credit report pronto and possibly placing an alert on it so that no new accounts can be opened.

If you read his posting he mentioned maybe it was the postal worker who did it. I said there are a few cases of where they have been caught stealing. It may or may not be a postal worker. It could be anyone.

do I need to point out here why you should have a business and a taxpayer ID number instead of using your name and ssn?

checks made out to businesses...even DBA's cant be cashed.
