Have used simple machines on a number of forums.
I like it because it's free and end up converting to VB if the forum makes enough to pay for it. The admin is simple and a little lacking IMO, but it is a very good free script.

Its a good script, better for SEO than PhPBB. But usability and security is better in the new PhPbb v3, so im sticking with PhPBB.
IF the site becomes large, you can always convert it to VB, or invest a little $$ to get a designer/programmer to clean up your PhPbb. VB get attacked by spambots as much as PhPbb anyway. |
