I can't imagine how Randy will overcome Brocks strength, agility and ferocity but if he does it will be one of the most impressive fights in the history of the UFC!

Should be a great fight, as long as Brock doesn't leave a leg or arm hanging open

Definitely looking forward to this one. This could go either way.

Although Randy proved he can handle much bigger guys by the ass kicking he gave Gonzaga. Lesnar is just so dam powerful though.

I dont know about most impressive but it will be good to see. What I am interested in seeing is what Coture uses for a strategy. I dont see him dirty boxing his way to win with the strength of this guy but I would LOVE to see him out wrestle him. That would be hilarious.

Agreed. Couture would be foolish to not be looking for a submission and Brock has been careless before...

It's unknown because his fights have been so short, but I'd say nothing short of incredible.

The only weakness I see in Brock is his lack of MMA experience, and that's about it. He scary-strong, killer agressive, way more agile than a monster his size should be and lightning fast - again way faster than a guy his size should be.

It all comes down to Couture's strategy and experience.

Agreed. As much as I'd like to say couture should win... a couple things indicate otherwise:

- Couture is returning to the UFC after huge contract issues with Zuffa.
- Couture has launched a highly successful gym in Ontario.
- There are other players in the MMA game now.
- Brock is insane.

All of this seems to indicate Couture will lose, leave the UFC gracefully, and move on to better things.

The biggest factor against Coutoure is his age. At his age, and having been floored before, the body just doesn't have the same power and stamina. His heart probably isn't into it like when he was younger too. But he has experience on his side and I'm sure he'll make good on any error of his opponent.

It'll be very interesting because it's basically going to be technique/skill/experience versus brute strength with less polished skills.

For old time's sake, I'm going to bank on Coutoure, because he's the underdog.

Call me crazy, but Lesnar has yet to really impress me. He got submitted by Mir and then when he beat Herring he basically laid on him for three rounds and won the decision. He has the pedigree with his wrestling background. He is very strong and appears to have great cardio and super speed and agility. The question is does he have the smarts to be in the MMA game.

I think one of two things will happen. Couture will either try to stand with him in an effort to send a message and will get caught with a bomb (although Couture could catch him as well) or Couture will eventually submit him.

So has BJ Penn, Tito Ortiz, etc. It's nothing new.

Like who? EliteXC just shut down it's door and is being sued by it's fighters, guess they shouldn't have put Kimbo as their top moneymaker. PRIDE is dead and bought out by the UFC, DREAMS hasn't made a splash stateside, IFL is dead, who exactly are you talking about?

I agree with you, his only notable win was against Herring, who previously got beat on the ground by a Kickboxer. He's done nothing to get a title shot, nothing at all.

Napao is a better striker than Lesnar, and we all saw what Randy did to him. Gabriel's ground game with submissions is day and night compared to Lesnar, and I don't see Randy in any danger standing or on the ground.

What makes MMA great is that at any given moment the tide can change and the fight is over quickly. I see Randy pulling this one off, and finally fighting Minotauro for the Belt. Since Mir is not going to stand a chance against Mino.

Couture will win, Lesnar has too much muscle to carry around and he is too big to do anything other than hold people down on the ground. If you watched the Herring fight you will see he was totally clueless when trying to improve position on the ground.

Couture will push Lesnar to his cardio limits and then win via GNP in round 4.

I've got $500 booked @ 2.025:1 for Couture!

I think the most notable contender is Affliction, not even mentioned above. Backed by Donald Trump and now sporting a large compliment of ex-UFC fighters, they're a force to be reckoned with soonish.

Like any skill in a MMA fight, it's another tool on the belt. Your comment seems foolish because you imply anything can happen in MMA but write off the fact that Lesnar possesses inhumane power. Silly.

I dont see how thats a negative in regards to his ability. The man coaches and trains 24/7/365. He's never let himself get out of shape, if thats what you're implying.

His recently signed contract with UFC would indicate otherwise.

Also, if Brock had never been in WWF, he wouldnt even be in this fight. He lost to Frank Mir and beat a guy that was mediocre in Pride (Heath Herring) by laying on him for 3 rounds. Brock is the Kimbo Slice of UFC. He's got potential, but they're banking on him way too hard.

Randy cares about being paid, and he should. Litigation was thrown out the window by Zuffa because Randy wanted this fight with Lesnar. It's paydays across the board for everyone.

Absolutely, Randy also just launched his own Supplement Company. His brand means something.

I did fail to mention Affliction, but if my memory serves me correct, they had to comp over half their tickets for the last show they put on, as well as NOBODY outside of us MMA geeks had an idea that it was even on.

Insanity is another tool in the belt? Give me a fucking break. These are skilled professionals who put their time in honing their skills, BESERK VIKING INSANITY last I heard, was not part of the MMA toolkit.

Maybe you still can. I had two MMA fights last year (1-1-0), been training Muay Thai for 2 years, BJJ No Gi over 5 years, and a Blue with the Gi, doing that 3 years now. I train at one of the top 3 MMA Academies in the World. I started at 35. It's never too late.

tough battle, that round kick to the side of Couture's head could have been the end with just a 1/4" difference in the impact, looks like exhaustion did Napao in in the end... Couture is a warrior no doubt

That kick to the head that Randy stopped with his forearms... That one kick broke his forearm. Randy still won. That is Captain America.

It's alright. I went ahead with my comments anyway.

I'm really excited about it as well. I'm calling Randy in the 2nd...maybe 3rd.

Truth be told, I'm WAY more excited about UFC 92. That card is STACKED.

What I like about Lesnar is his commitment. Minnesota reports that he's very close to purple belt level now in BJJ, and Black Belt level guys are having a hella of a time tapping him out if at all.

What I'd like to see is him loosing the WWE type personna. He knows first hand what it takes to be in that Cage, and that only the elite get there.

They should sick Brock on the graphic designers, all at once. They made him look like a roided out down syndrome monkey on a meth binge.

They were going for the "Insane" look.

I totally agree with you that he could one day be amazing. I have to disagree on the "puts on a good show" statement. So far all I've seen him do is lay on people. He's a blanket.

Yup. He acted like an idiot after he beat Heath Herring.

Ha. Touche.

I was hoping 'insane' would have communicated his shear size, speed, strength. You took it literally... He is insane by any measurement.

That above was funny though.

I think Couture will take this fight because of experience. Lesner will pose alot of problems for him but couture is one of the smartest fighters. I say couture will tire the big man out and punish him in the later rounds to pull it off.

Yup. He said he's brought in a few massive guys to train "worst case scenario" stuff with him for Brock. I can only imagine he's been spending a lot of time on his back with 250+ lbs of muscle trying to ground and pound him out.

Damn that sounded gay.

I'm glad Randy's back...but still I still don't see it being anywhere near the biggest fight in UFC history.

Lesnar will dominate UFC eventually but maybe not yet...its like his 3rd fight and he is already one of the best.

it will probably be the biggest draw in UFC history...already the most talked about in the mainstream media

I'm training to fight the winner, right now I'm in my backyard kicking trees. Juicy... will... dominate!
