A question was raised in the pool's message forum...

Personaly i think once you make your picks that should be it. You have a whole week to make them.I think that no one should be able to change them once the deadline is closed.Just my opinion

My response:

No one changed their picks. If you miss the early game (or games) you forfeit those games and those points, but you can still get your picks in for the regular Sunday games and MNF, but you must send your picks via email to the admin BEFORE THE START OF SUNDAY'S GAMES. That option has always been in place. Again, no one's picks are ever altered after the games begin.

To state it a different way so there's less confusion, if you miss the early game deadline you lose out on that game, but you can still get your picks in for the week by submitting them to the admin email before the start of Sunday's first games. Your picks for Sunday and Monday will be entered along with random weights assigned, and a random weight attributed to the losing team for the games already played.

Once games have started that's it, unless I received your email containing your picks before the deadline.

No one's picks have ever been "altered" or "changed" in any way after a deadline, period.

I hope this clears up any misconceptions but if there's still questions post them here.

You shouldnt be able to put them in at all for the entire week IMO.

At the very least someone should not only forfeit the thursday game put also lose the top "weight" on that game.

Um, if you read it again you'll see they do lose the thursday game. Log into the pool and you'll see that everyone who entered late picks shows a loss for the game they missed. The wieght for that is random, but you're right... it should be the top weight forfeited.

In future everyone will lose their top weight on any early game missed when they submit their remaining picks late.

I'll address this part of your post as well. One, it's a fun pool. And two, I could just as easily set the pool so that none of the early games count, but I don't want to do that.

I see no reason that someone who forgot to make their picks early in one week can't enter their remaining picks before the remaining games commence.

Good suggestion on the weights though. That's the way it will be from now on.
