Some free SEO advcie for your blogs!
Seeing as so many of you webmasters don't learn shit from the mainstream crowd, I'm posting some free advice for all of ya regarding SEO for wordpress-powered blogs.
1. Tags ARE important Yes, put up a tag clowd and TAG your posts. Don't use those fancy ajax-powered floating tag clowds. Plain old static html (built into wordpress widgets) will do the trick. 2. Permalinks have to be pretty I can't tell you how important this is. And no, it's not hard. Just go to your settings > permalinks > custom permalink structure and simply put %post-name% over there. If you're good with php, you might also want to write a script that puts y our tags into the permalink. So it would look like http://www.yoursexyblog.com/sexy-pos...tag1-tag2-tag3 3. Why the fuck do most of you NOT have latest posts widgets? How do you think web crawlers are supposed to find your previous content? 4. Related content Now it's easier than ever, and you need this to get your linking structure more crawlable. Simply download any related posts plugin and use it under your content in single posts pages. ______________________ These are the most common errors I have to deal with every day on ICQ. I hate seeing blogs that are filled with millions of affiliate links in the sidebar and the webmaster asks me "why my seo trafffic teh lowz??" Seriously, aim for quality and not quantity. Get yourself a good inner-linking structure and some traffic before shitting the site with affiliate links. |

another tip: add back links slowly/naturally and make sure they are of the same niche and of good quality.
I hate people on thunderball that want me to link one of my quality blogs to their junk cj just because the PR is good. |

Stay away from SEO guys that tell you "I'll give you millions of links!!!111" - that might get you sandboxed. Links have to be built naturally and gradually. |
