'Do Not Call' CRTC federal list - test complaint...

After having ourselves added to the new CRTC 'Do Not Call' federal listing, it seems we're still getting a glut of unsolicited marketing calls to our residential number.

Just tonight we received two from the same assholes (during our dinner hour).

So, tonight I decided to file my first formal complaint with the CRTC.

We'll see how they follow up with it.

GO FUCK YOURSELVES - SUPERIOR ENERGY MARKETING.

There's a few sites on how to rape those fuckers in small claims court.

My fucking captain called tonight and said my ship was leaving... asshole!

I signed up for that list too, but you have to give it a few months to really see if it works...

We signed up for it back in late Sept. when it was first implemented. We received confirmation of being on the list in early November.

We're on it...trust me.

No, I wasn't saying it to you per se, just in general. I too signed up when it first came out and my Captain is still fucking calling... I wish Captain Ron would call me one day though, i'd go on that fucking tour anyday

think about that

I had an unsolicited call tonight asking for an unknown name, and it got me thinking: in Australia, businesses are allowed to cold call you if they have had a prior relationship with you. This relationship exempts them from anti telemarketing legislation. Now, what happens if they start calling customers with a database that is a few years stale, and some of the numbers have been reassigned in the meantime? Are they still breaking the law if the person answering the phone makes it clear that "X" isn't reachable via this number and the caller ends the call promptly? What if instead they deliberately try the "oh, well maybe you'll be interested in..." trick?
