No one even slowed up or even gave a shit it seems. I'm not saying cause a crash to rescue a dog, but it seems to be a pretty open road with alot of visibility but you don't see any brake lights.

You are supposed to be able to stop very fast. It does not matter if it is a dog or a person, you stop. People drive fast here and I saw a guy stop his truck in the middle of an intersection because he saw a dog in the road. His stopping caused everyone else to stop and look. The dog was saved and there were no accidents.

SANTIAGO, Chile ? Chileans have a new hero: an apparently homeless dog that pulled the body of another dog through traffic off a busy highway. A surveillance camera on a Santiago freeway captured images of a dog trotting past speeding cars to pull the lifeless body of the other canine, which had been run over by a vehicle, away from traffic and onto the median strip.

The scene was broadcast by Chilean television stations and then posted on Web sites such as YouTube.com, and hundreds of thousands of people had viewed versions of it by Monday.

Highway crews removed both the dead and live dogs from the median strip of the Vespucio Norte Highway shortly after the Dec. 4 incident. But the rescuer dog ran away.

Authorities say images of the rescue prompted some people to call and offer to adopt the dog, but neither highway workers nor a television crew could find they animal

Saw that story as well and seems that dog died not long after being pulled on the side of the road and the stray dog just fled the scene... it was an amazing act though... would so have a dog if I weren't in the city!

I am getting a puppy Golden Retriever. She has a big boxy head, light golden color and a thick body. The mom is nice a slender, the dad is huge with lots of hair and a huge box head. The lines come from Europe where the Golden Retrievers are usually stockier and have big boxy heads.

I saw a few cars going out of their way to avoid the dog, one even drove into the barrier and probably scratched the crap out of the left side of his car..

I've done it, so its not impossible. If you know how to drive properly, you should know that you always look at least 10 seconds ahead of where you are to avoid things like this.

I've stopped all traffic countless times to save a poor animals life......even got out the car and chased a baby bird up onto the sidewalk for her to get out of the way of cars. LOL.

That dog is amazing tho.
