I need a CMS with forum (preferably Vbulletin)
I see 13 different blendings of a CMS and VBulletin HERE but they are all homebrew. Is there a legit company that does this. If something goes wrong I need support. I need it to work well.

vbadvanced will do the trick they also have some other tools.
I have heard good things about subdreamer as well but never used it. Both of those are already on the list but they aren't "home brew" as you say.

There's a pay to play VB plugin for Joomla. I just use Fireboard and Simple Machines, both with work flawlessly with Joomla and don't cost anything.

I'm pretty impressed with subzero. I think I'm going to change my mind and go with them instead. Any clue if its admin panel is as friendly as Joomla's?
