As a general note: I know this script is really only in an API form, but it's 100% working.

I don't have much time for side projects, but if this gets enough use, i'll happily built some 'drop in' solutions for existing CMSs.

Thanks alot for the code dude... we are launching a new paysite this month (jopefully) and this code came right on time...

Now we can add that section to our TOS that says if you download a video and share it that you are liable for damages and will be reported for piracy.

I see alot of opportunity with technology like this.

Should have kept this quiet, doesn't matter that it's encrypted because now it known about, it's easy to remove from wmv's.

at least the people downloading & sharing the content wouldn't have known about it, would have been better off imo just giving it to site owners instead of publicly posting the link.

And the IP? That would be key.

So really it doesn't matter if the whole thing is unencrypted as the information will be useless to anyone but the paysite owner and legal authorities..

What you need to be worried about is the data being erased or covered..

And once a coder dissects the code that will be easy to figure out.. That's why it shouldn't be open source... You woulda been better off keeping it and trying to make money off it..

Also everyone is moving towards streaming Flash...

It's something tho.. it's a start.. it's better than doing nothing...
