best free spyware/adware/malware removal ?

currently using:
Spybot search and destroy
Ad-Aware by LavaSoft

I believe they are not the strongest in the arena anymore.
which are ?

combofix fucked up my computer really bad, tehy say about it happens about to 1% of the people that use it, well, I was lucky - it took me hours to get everything working after that

why and in what way is it not for the inexperiencd user ? are you talking about the complexity of running combofix with all the stages like installing "Windows Recovery Console", the restart of scan ?

why choose 1 ? how about I install all of these antispyware programs:
SpyBot S&D
Ad-Aware
SuperAntiSpyware
Malwarebytes
HiJackThis


they don't conflict with each other do they ? so what's the downside of installing 5 antispyware programs ?

Unnecessary I can live with.

Performance degradation I think should not accure unless you use real-time protection like SpyBot's "TeaTimer". - those can be disabled to use only 1.

Personally, I run absolutely no spyware/malware protection. I've gotten 1 infestation in the past 3 years and that was from the one time I loaded up Internet Explorer prior to getting Firefox on a fresh Windows install.

Following the instructions here cleaned it all up.
