Problem color synching monitors - Help!

I have 2 samsung T220 monitors... the colors are off on them very slightly.

Now looking at both I can't tell which direction to go to make things "right".. is there any software (besides what comes bundled with the video card) that can help me get the color correct?

for example... is #F2EDDE a very light grey or a very light tan color?

ugh this sucks

Yup Spyder, though last time I used it, it was still a bit tricky with the dual monitor support, I think they've had a few upgrades since then.

I had looked at that monitor today because I really like the looks of the Samsung TOC LCD tvs that look similar.

I read several negative reviews about backlight bleed, colors being off.. blues looking purple and reds looking magenta, and being hard to calibrate.

They are relatively new so I decided to wait and see if things change over time.

You normally see that same of review on any monitor out there. Always someone crying lol. I have dual samsung 225bw 22"ers and I love them.

actually that is an issue i'm having right now.. on one of the monitors there is a strong blue tint to it.. greys look blue

since i have 2 i can spot it pretty easy, now i gotta get a replacement from samsung

the reds look ok though... its a nice monitor otherwise, pain in the ass to calibrate by hand

i think im gonna have to get that calibration spyder thing

What I'd read is that these monitors are made by three different manufacturers. There is a way to find out in the menu of the monitor which company made yours. The ones made by Samsung themselves are usually without much problem. You may have one by Samsung and one by another source.

If I find where I read about that I'll post it.

I have spyder 2 express... and I don't think it works with 2 monitors (tried it on one)... so go for a higher version. Also .. the customization possibilities are next to none on the express version.
Monitor calibration is a must when working with graphics... and not software based calibration... the one I've heard a lot of good things ( and thinking of getting it ) is eye-one from xrite
