Lamb of God

just saw them play tonight, and they were pretty freaking awesome. I'm not really a speed metal fan, I took my son to see them.. prolly wouldn't have gone to see them on my own. but, very good musicianship. they sound tight as fuck, and the drummer... well, flawless.

on the way there, my son tells me about the wall of death... it happened on the second to last song, was neat to watch from the balcony. haha

they are a pretty tight band, some of their songs I think are masterpieces, but the constant double kick rolls he does get repetitive to me for some reason

"What I've Become" is probably my favorite by these guys

Going to my second Lamb of God gig this coming February. If Adler's drumming impresses you, you should check out an album put out by a band he used to be in (although he's not the drummer on the album - but you'd still dig it). A band called Blotted Science. Amazingly tight technical metal.

What the fuck is speed metal? Metallica (before they sucked) in a dual-cassette deck?

I fucking love them, but everytime I've sen them their sound was shit. Still enjoyed the show, but every other band they shared the stage with sounded way better.

I saw them play with Slipknot years ago before I really knew who they were and they killed it... I like all of their albums, but the further you go back the better they get.

There is something about that raw sound that just blows away studio production for me every fucking time. Keep it raw.

No, you are pretty much right. When I think of speed metal I think of a lot of double bass.

Yeh I never really get into the sub genres. People fight about sub genres, what they mean, and who goes where... seems kind of silly because everybody classifies every group in different sub genres.

It's music, has a fast tempo, lots of heavy guitars, some double bass, and lots of screaming...

I had the oppertunity to see the wall of death happen one time.

I knew right then I was getting old.

That was the first time I EVER saw something at a metal show and said to myself "Jesus Christ, thats the stupidest shit i've ever seen."

Search it out on you tube. I wonder how many "wall of death" E.R. visits happen. Thats just some insanely crazy shit.
