How can a domain not be deleted nearly 2 years after it EXPIRED? - GoFuckYourself.com

Database last updated on 29-Oct-2010 07:46:24 EDT.

The site doesn't work of course - the domain is non delegated and does not appear in the root servers, but it also means that no one else can re-register it. How can a domain still be in the database after all this time?

if the registra pays the fee for the domain they can hold it forever if they want, many registras who have land page type services by default will keep a domain that is profitable just to sell drop services, keyword traffic etc

Yahoo is keeping a domain I wanted dropped and has been doing so for a long time. The credit card they have on file has been dead for three years but they keep renewing the domain each year without me paying a cent. I don't use it and have sent communications telling them I wanted it dropped yet they still renew it each year. I'm just worried they will come to me a few years later and argue that I owe them $1,000 in back domain fees. That and the domain still has my Whois even though I technically don't control it and can't change the whois info from their UI. I think it's just a glitch in their software in my case because the domain is worthless.

The domain is not delegated, so no landing pages. Apart from what WHOIS says, it effectively does not exist.

Hmmm, looks like it's a glitch with netsol's database... the global header says it expires 28-dec-2010, netsol says 30-Dec-2008.

Also weird is that both places say it's delegated to two name servers, but the root servers don't have any record of it.

The domain is JENNICAM.COM

Domain is in "clientHold" status - was removed from the .COM zonefile, and is why it doesn't resolve. In effect, Network Solutions suspended the domain.
