The industry has turned to shit .. go figure.

Its funny in a weird way.. there was always people claiming the industry is dead.. even when it was popping. but I think at this point most people here should just shut down and lick their wounds. Ratios are shit from people who claim to be the ballers.. and it's a secret. As the industry turns .. most people who are are making a buck are tightening the ranks and see the storm, others are playing along like nothing is wrong as they struggle to pay their rent. A lot of people are blaming the tube sites when they don't realize it is a generational thing, kids who were brought up with computers are just more save than their fathers and would be finding the free stuff anyway. I bet most of you fellas who have been in the game a while never paid for a site but sussed out all the content anyway. Its a big mess and the last few who have shit worth buying are holding strong and prepping for the future. the programs that realize their shit is just that... shit are scamming away to grab thelast few bucks and fucking the industry. Im no hater scam away kids but the dudes pushing the shit should be considering a new revenue source or at least be aware the shit is hitting the fan as we speak and the scammers will bail.

i disagree. found my way through the mess already. its a complete 180 from where it was not even two months ago.

this time period means.

trim the fat.
clean up your home(business) operations
cut costs
maximize on what you have instead of what you don't

this industry needed this. it's the shakeout we've all been waiting for.

what is this "shakeout" you are talking about? there are just as many sites out there as there ever was, maybe more, and just because less money is being made doesn't mean the sites will disappear, if anything there will still be more crappy sites coming out as more people and more third world countries get connected and try to make 10 cents a day with their sites

just because 95% of affiliates will make zero doesn't mean that they will disappear along with their sites and all of a sudden the other 5% will start to make more

and if you are talking about it from the perspective of a paysite owner, I don't see that getting any easier in the future either

Only a few programs from my understanding are doing very well and they are doing very well because they understand thier niche very well and deliver exactly what there audiences expect consistantly.

They all shoot thier own content as well.

If your company is not doing both of those things you are going to have a hard time if not by now you will soon. Archive sites that have anything older than a year in them days are numbered.

I find that the more I mind my own business, the more money I make

Nowadays I generate my own traffic, promote my own paysites, hell use my own billing and shoot my own content... And so far so good.

whoever said that shakeout means less sites? if people can't see the landscape, i surely am not going to take a picture of it to show people the way. not referring to you, but NOT from a paysite owners position, it means jack shit how many sites are out there.

not sure why people are focusing on a "program" view. programs are not the end all be all to this industry. far from it. broaden your perspectives and abilities to analyze the environment you're in and expand your revenue options as they pertain to assets in you possession.

(to whom it applies)

I guess it is semantics, when we hear the term "shakeout", to me that implies people getting out of the business and a smaller number participants remaining that become stronger because of it.... I don't see that happening in online adult... there might end up a day where there are a few strong participants left, but it won't be because of a shakeout of competitors leaving the business I don't think (I could be way wrong in what you are referring to though)

i think its just a matter of perspective and what you're immersed in as you go about your day. i will say that the sponsor programs out there are definitely cutting the fat. the video companies are treading water, and many people are exiting the business. the problem with that is, no one makes posts or worthless press releases to announce "GRAND CLOSING!!" whoo hoo, look at us we went out of business. lol. you see every worthless announcement you can imagine even when these companies hire a janitor or open a soda can, but when the companies clean house, you don't see anything like that announced. i know off the top of my head at least 30 some odd people let go from affiliate programs that once used to be all over the boards as reps. i know this because many of them came to me looking to see if i was hiring. affiliate programs are finally taking a look around at their overheads and getting rid of anything that does not produce, not only people. the old saying "if it don't make dollas, it don't make sense" applies more than ever now. porn valley for some has turned into a really dark, gloomy place, where the guy who once was joe the bigshot now worries about how to pay for those two boats, the rv, the two houses, and his wifes alimony. thats the kind of shakeout im talking about. as far as sites go, if anything i think there will be more sites online than ever. everyone is rushing to the web to save them. sadly many are too late.

word.

Sucks that the Hawaii show had to be right now. Totally planned on going, but last night we decided that the $6k+ (and time) the business planned on spending would be better spent shooting a few more models to round out one of the new micro niche sites we're doing.

Got Dickmans hard at work on 2 new tours. Have a couple other new tours being done too, and been busy shooting lots of new content. Oh... and have a few new avenues for monetizing our 12 years of exclusive content.
