Whether it was good or bad, what was the top 5 events or places in your life you can say you were there where # 1 was the most memorable. Here are mine

1- Ground Zero Sept 13. -
2 days after i was delivering water to the site and taking fireman back to their houses .
Not much to say except I was in tears seeing my home turned into a warzone. I lost one of my hockey team mates Tom ( RIP ) who was working on his day off.

2- June 14th 1994 - New York Rangers win Stanley Cup. - Yes I cried.

3- Last year Superbowl. I saw my GMEN win it all in a great upset

4- Vatican City - Where the eyes of the world have been many times. I drove from Prague to Rome on my way to Torino for the winter Olympics and just felt the need to be there in Vatican City.

5- 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano. The japanese were a terrific host and when I arrived from a long flight into Tokyo, there was a gentleman who unfortunately I cant remember his name, but he knew I was out of place and more than went out of his way to help me get to Nagano. I got to sit next to Bif Henderson from Late nite show and behind me was Patrick Roy at the womens gold medal game.

These are mine. I guess you all know i live for sporting events. Im sure there are muchj more memorable events people have attended. Lets hear them.

Saturday, October 15, 1988 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California:

A's closer, Dennis Eckersley, came on to pitch the ninth to close it out for Stewart. After retiring the first two batters, Eckersley issued a walk to pinch-hitter Mike Davis, bringing a hobbled Kirk Gibson to the plate to bat for reliever Alejandro Peña. After Davis stole second, Gibson bravely fouled off Eckersley's best offerings, then hit a backdoor slider into the right field bleachers to win the game. The footage of Gibson hobbling around the bases on both hurt legs and pumping his fist as he rounds second will forever live on highlight reels. Gibson would never bat again in the Series. Kirk Gibson's walk-off homer in Game 1, marked the first time that a World Series game ended with a come from behind home run; and is considered the greatest home run hit in Los Angeles Dodgers history.

Those were the best times so far.

6. The day my I got my dad to go see metallica and suicidal tendencies with me when metallica was touring for the black album. That was pretty damn fun too.

Hrm...hard to put things in a list.

The birth of my first baby, a girl. Her room was decorated in pink and yellow and there were dresses in the closet and a beautiful name I picked out when I was 12. Never for an instant did I consider she might be a boy.

The birth of my second child, a girl, she is most like me...she has my heart..but some of my demons too.

The day my step dad died...my mom called said "he is dead" and hung up. I took it so hard I immediately started to miscarry...in ultrasound that day I looked and saw that my baby was a boy...and at that moment I knew things would be ok. His birth was made even more special

The day my youngest daughter was born....my mom got to stay and watch the delivery. She said it was the most amazing experience of her life (she never even got to watch my birth).

The evening I sat beside my moms hospital bed with rubbing her hand and telling her everything was going to be ok, she could go now....she was loved...and watch her just stop breathing....I fulfilled a promise I made her to be there when she passed...she brought me into this world, and I eased her leaving this world.

What else.....The Vatican, St. Mark's Square...all the churches in all of the towns in Europe...most brought tears to my eyes.....I'm not all that religious but damn, it was overwhelming. A gondola ride down the grand canal fulfilling a life long dream..climbing my first mountain...hell...seeing my first mountain....open door helicopter ride over the lava flows in Hawaii..

....every single morning....because every day brings potential to see or do something amazing...to be part of a solution...to make someones day...to make a difference...to be a better person...to just BREATHE!!!

1. Stopping in Disney on the way home from my sister's wedding. We kept seeing all the obnoxious billboards.. it was 7am... I said, "What the hell..." We got to Disney and the only rooms available were the suites at the Polynesian. I decided right then and there that I was going to take an emergency cc.. and spend the next 24 hours making the best memories ever. If it could be done at Disney.. hubby and I did it... BEST memory was the boats in the lake at the Polynesian... OR coming back from the park and being told we could move to the honeymoon suite if we wanted (I'd asked for an upgrade if they could)... and eating room service while watching the show on the lake and the fireworks over disney... Most romantic, special, sweet time of my life or marriage.

2. Astros @ The World Series

3. Being a contestant 4 years running in the National Academic Games. I was a mathlete. Yes. Nerd. Going and spending all that time with other nerds like me was awesome :D

4. My first time saying our vows at the Justice of the Peace. I'd eloped, blew off 100k in scholarships, didn't tell my parents.. just left.. and a year later mom was planning our wedding... but we got married at the JP a month before.. just incase her wedding plans were really a kidnapping plot. THEN on the day of the real wedding... Taking a carriage ride down the Galveston strand.. in the middle or spring break... So all these drunk college kids were hooping and hollering while we rode by in the carriage.. and I can remember one little girl saying, "Mommy, it's a princess."

5. The day I retired my mother. I wasn't there.. but I was on the speaker phone when she marched into the head nurses office and told them, "I don't have to work again, my daughter and I are going into business, I quit.." Then listening to her play really cheesy 70s music in the car on the way home.. excited as fuck.. and relieved. She'd been a surgical nurse 30+ years... So hearing her finally get to retire after 30 years on her feet every single day.. sometimes 50-60 hours per week...

I need more big, grandiose memories.. but I guess they'll come in time Most of mine are personal now.

I'm not married and don't have any kids so that is why there is none of that on my list.
It is hard to sometimes place some of these thing.

5. The day I quit my first "real" job to do something I love. I worked for Radio Shack. I was 19 years old and the job sucked. I had been writing for a music magazine part time and they had just offered me a full time job. Getting to Radio Shack I was leaving for the coolest job in the world felt great.

4. Seeing some of the best bands in the world play in small clubs, interviewing some of them and getting to see others from the side of the stage. Writing for this music magazine I saw bands like Pearl Jam and Nirvana in small clubs when they were just about the explode and get huge. Interviewed Neil Young and got kissed by Liz Phair. It was a fun time.

3. Leaving a good job to move to Los Angeles to take a shot at working in the movie industry. I didn't know anyone in that town and had no job lined up or anywhere to live. I put everything I owned in my car and drove the 1000 miles to LA. In the end it didn't work out and I found what I really wanted to do (writing wise) so after a few years I left, but that time taught me that I can take care of myself and do whatever I set my mind to doing.

2. Going to Egypt and seeing the pyramids, temples, tombs of the pharaohs and all the wonders of that country. It is humbling, awe inspiring and will change your life if you open yourself up to it. Plus I managed to have what could only be described as a cheesy movie-like vacation romance with an Asian nurse from New York.

1. Signing a development deal with a major book publisher for my first novel. It has been a long time in the works and still under rewrites, but getting signed by a big publisher to develop the book has been a dream come true.


That's my list. I have honorable mentions as well. The three that come to mind are: spending one perfect night in Zurich with a girl from Australia. The day I decided it was okay if I didn't want my dad to be in my life and day my brother became a father.

Thanks. It is funny when you sit down and think about what you have done/where you have gone some of the stuff you accomplish in your life. At the time it may not have seemed like that big of a deal, but when you look back on it you realize it really was.

I worked with John Candy as Production Assistant during a Expos - Marlin (baseball) game, he was special guest, days before he died.

1987 Israel, Damascus gate. I was there at the start of the Intifada, as a University student @ hebrew U.

America Summits .. I was at both america Summits, as a Union Cameraman

1994, My first time as a Cameraman, and the very last time the Montreal Canadians won the stanley cup .. I was there

2nd Gulf war .. I was stationed in Israel for CBC News

#2 New Orleans Superbowl 2002 New England hits a field goal as time expires to beat the Heavily Favored St. Louis Rams.

#1 March 22nd 2008. Hollywood, Ca to see the birth of my daughter... Can't top that.
