Has Godaddy stopped hosting Adult?

I just set up a domain and wanted to host it on godaddy to start. I activated and read the terms of conditions... never noticed it before. One stipulation is website cannot have pornagraphic material

Maybe it was always there and just never noticed it before.

I moved that site to a dedicated server. Just curious if that's new though with godaddy? If it is i'm wondering if their gonna start shutting down adult sites hosted on their servers.

If your adding a new domain and want a small site hosted, why would you pick the registrar anyways. If you really have a dedicated server, how hard is it to add a domain and IP real quick. If you want a different class c and all of that shit - your hosting company still is a better bet and just as fast. So what gives?

thanks after shock, i will ask them to set that up. My past experience with posting a ticket with my host was two weeks turn around on an answer... always answering the ticket with another question.

i needed to get an ftp u/p today so created under a subdomain of my current account.

btw... any hosts around more then 5 years with an active telephone number answered 24 hrs?

goddady will take adult sites, sadly i hosted some there before i had any idea where to host. They never booted us, but they seem to reserve the right to boot you whenever they want too.

You must have misread something, before using godaddy I called them and asked them straight out if they allow adult websites...and the answere was yes. Most hosts will have the same terms as godaddy just to protect themselves.

no... i didn't misread... sure wish i took a screenshot. If it doesn't get posted here i'll use another credit and start a host with them on another domain.

It was very clear... no pornographic material... not pornographic underage, etc... pornographic in general.

i've also talked to them on the phone about a site a reserved... fuckthecameraman.com they didn't mention anything was wrong either... just a hehe...

my point in this thread is that i believe they are creating TOS that may just steal your adult site from ya

Damn and I thought I was paranoid, maybe you can ask them to send you something in writing regarding their policy. It seems many on GFY have something negative to say about godaddy, but have trouble giving you a real reason. The largest register in the world...will also have the largest number of aholes trying to host fucked up sites. Please keep us posted.

I have had many adult sites hosted on a dedicated with them for a couple of years and never had any issues aside from the constant downtime. I have planned on moving the rest for a long time and will be soon.

Hell, they don't care that meatspin is hosted there (this isn't me). Listen to when he says they will take all of the domains in the account due to a major complaint. Also mentions that adult is fine. I am currently transferring all of my domains from Godaddy to Moniker due to the constant horror stories I read about Godaddy.

Knowing the type of traffic a successful adult site can pull, they don't want cheapo's to ruin their cost ratio. GoDaddy can afford to give away free sites because they host a bunch of 'em in the cheapest virtual environment ever.

Your taking the information I posted about what there TOS are regarding using them to start a site for free, divulging it, then talkin' about free rides and shit!

That ain't the point dude, it is not written anywhere except after you reserve the domain and use a credit given to you to provide hosting. You click the credit and their is a page with that disclaimer...

Yes there is something to be seen here. If your bandwidth gets too high you transfer it or upgrade it. Talkin' about cheapo's, free rides, is fuckin' retarted dude. Many people, myself included, pay lots of money for several hosts.

I doubt they would take your domain from you but there TOS eludes to it. So now, I will not use their "cheapo, free ride" host which they offer on any adult sites because of that and from what I just learned.

You just answered your own question "your free web site cannot have any of the following .... .... ...." Some adult websites use crazy amounts of bandwidth...they rather not let you have it for free. If your paying for your hosting they allow it.
