How much "realism" is acceptable in nudes?

Ok guys, need your honest opinion. Recently we received an email about the level of reality showing in some photos and I was wondering what everybody thinks. Here is part of the email: "when you produce a product, you have to be careful to put out the best of what you have. Then the customer will decide if your product is good or not in order to continue buying it. Nowadays the public is very demanding when it comes to beauty and presentation". Basically, it is the difference between perfectly smoothed out "playboy" type photos and more simple, real nudes. But we all know what matters is making the sales and I wanted to see if you think showing the real body imperfections would hinder sales. We are talking about this type of a photo in an FHG. Below is a photo in question (cant post URLs yet...).

I think Realism is fine. Just depends on the niche.

I wouldnt pitch that as something glam based but more on the "Natural" edge. Natural is really good when it comes to selling "Amateur".

personally, i find nothing wrong with the pic.. ass could spend a bit of time at the gym, but slight stretch marks like that isn't something i'd say 'no' too..

i don't have stats or experience in that niche behind me tho

The biggest problem with that picture is some moron shoped a big white circle there - but honestly I like less shopped girls!

Speaking from experience, my paysite (True Amateur Models) has very real and very natural girls on it and it continues to get several sign ups every hour and thoughout every day. Just about all of the girls (about 250 to 300 at this time) were approached by myself out in public places and were asked to work for the paysite so these are very real and exclusive amateur girls....and quite a few of them have stretch marks and other body imperfections but I have never used photoshop for any of my pics....and never will either.

I market the site for what it is, a 100% real and 100% all natural amateur site. So, to answer your question, body imperfections wll NOT hinder your sales IF you are running the type of site that works with it. If you are running a glamour modeling site or something like that then yes, body imperfections could hinder your sales. Just depends on the type of site.
