Any WWE fans give a shit about all these new young wrestlers?

I'm an old school wrestling fan...and I've just recently started watching WWE wrestling again.
There are a TON of these new young guys coming in, but none of them seem to have the start power that a lot of the older guys have had.
All these 3rd and 4th generation wrestlers are so lame...Orton, Dibiase, Rhodes, Snuka, and a couple of others I cant think of off the top of my head.

I guess I'm just saying it seems like the entertainment factor has gone way down...this newer generation of wrestlers just arent that fun to watch.

Your thoughts?

Any wrestling fan only likes the old guys, but after a year or so you'll start to like the new ones too..

wrestling is for real yo....

seriously, you have to have a pretty low IQ to get into that shit...

it fits into the same category as monster truck shows and nascar...

oh, and also those lumberjack contests...

I think Vince McMahon shot himself in the foot when he opened the WWE Films division, since now every wrestler with star power and charisma ends up in one of his straight to video films, and if they do well Hollywood will eventually come calling. The Rock should have been the WWE's meal ticket for the next 2 decades, but instead he is making millions in Hollywood. The same with Steve Austin, even though he can't physically wrestle anymore because of his neck injury he could still draw money being a presence on WWE TV, but he is making more money filming Hollywood B movies.

It's not all the faults of the wrestlers, though, since the WWE's writing team is incredibly weak, and if you saddle a guy with a shitty gimmick and put him in a lame storyline it's tough for him to shine. I have 2 friends that have been on the WWE writing team at different times, and both of them said it is such a cluster fuck since Vince's daughter Stephanie constantly shoots down good ideas. Hell, she even hired the actor Freddie Prinze Jr for the writing team, so that gives you an idea of how out of touch she is...

WWE is exactly what it says World Wrestling "Entertainment"... not the sport of wrestling that I was raised on.

Here is what real wrestling was all about when I grew up in Atlanta. All I remember is that it was called "Live Atlanta Wrestling" and I couldn't wait til Saturday night

Georgia Championship Wrestling was formed in Atlanta in 1944 by promoter Paul Jones as ABC Booking. ABC held its matches at Atlanta's Municipal Auditorium every Friday night. Jones operated ABC for thirty years until his retirement in 1974, though from about 1970 until 1972 he was assisted by his booker Ray Gunkel - in fact, Jones was so infirm by this time that Gunkel effectively ran the promotion. On Christmas Day of 1971, Georgia Championship Wrestling aired its first show, which was considered a Christmas special, since the rest of the programming didn't air until late January 1972.

The promotion underwent some big changes in 1972. Firstly, it started promoting matches at the then-brand-new Omni Coliseum. Secondly, it switched its television outlet from its longtime home, WQXI-TV (now WXIA) to an upstart UHF station then called WTCG but later renamed WTBS (not yet a superstation, but still owned by Ted Turner; station in Atlanta is now WPCH-TV after being spun off from the national TBS cable channel).

Big stars who came in and out of Georgia Championship Wrestling included Bob and Brad Armstrong, Dusty Rhodes ("The American Dream"), The Road Warriors, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Killer Karl Kox, Larry Zbyszko, The Masked Superstar, Mr. Wrestling II, Ole Anderson, Stan Hansen, Ricky Steamboat, Steve Keirn, Ronnie Garvin, Ted DiBiase (later known as "The Million Dollar Man" in the WWF), Tommy Rich, Rick Martel, and Wahoo McDaniel.

Ahh those were the days

Fuck WWE!

Pride, UFC, Heros, Afflction, and MMA in general are much fucking better!

And before some goof says ufc purchased pride, i know, i'm saying how much better to watch they are compared to fucking wrestling.

I'd rather put an old pride dvd on than watch that shit.

Dude...chill out. We all know that Pride and UFC is the real deal.
I'm merely expressing an opnion from an entertainment stand-point.
Wrestling used to be good ol' fun and gimmicks...these wrestlers were amazing characters that could get you caught up in the most craziest of moments.

At the end of the day, if I wanna watch a good ass-beating, I'll watch MMA...but wrestling delivers those true memorable moments.

My 6 year old loves watching Orton. He`s good entertainment I guess. I`m just amazed at how this "sport" became so huge considering none of it is real.

Brilliant marketing really.

see i think it because you are looking at it with different eyes
as a kid you were in awe of the wrestling superstars

now you are an adult and you don't see or believe the hype.

I still tune in to TNA, every so often, not because of the stories, or the soap opera type crap that would have hooked me as a kid, but because those guys do some amazing shit.

IT like watching a jackie chan movie and knowing that his actually doing the stunt, you know it is staged, you know the story line is fake, and the drama between the wrestlers is not real, but you still say "holy shit".

WWE does not have that. IT only has the soap opera story lines and safe wrestling moves.

Take a look at the stuff that ron"the truth" killings did in tna and compare it to the stuff he is doing now (as r truth).
